Cool.

As for that crowd, I'm in!

They sound like my kinda people! :D

lol, you will fit in too much well.

...Well if I am correct, Seattle is like

the "New York of the Pacific" or like

that. But without the annoying people

you might find on New York.

Do you mind Julius if I go to Seattle too?

(By the way I plan on going on vacation there

when I have the money, not any soon thought.)

...I must see the 'Space Neddle'. Sure it is nothing

'Uberly-special', but nice still. :)

Sure sounds like a good idea.

If you do that say hi for Mr. Krystal for me.

And throw a brick in Nintendo's HQ that has paper that says GIVE US NEW STARFOX.

Seattle/Bellevue/Redmond are nice: clean, mild climate, kind people, no real crime.

But it's extremely expensive, and I haven't had all that much luck getting a job so far. Actually, most of the game jobs advertised lately are in California, but I refuse to go there. I can't stand California, for the reasons you mentioned and more.

Come to Iowa :D

Indeed. We have the worlds largest truck stop.

CA might suck, but from what I've heard Washington isn't too cool either. They're kind of elitist up there about out of staters, according to a friend of mine.

A really nice state to live in would be Wisconsin or something, but that might be too far away/expensive.

The thing is, there is some sense in the nonsensical quote- "No matter where you go, there you are." The problems that are plaguing you in California are probably everywhere. A change of scenery could be good for you though...

Oh, damn, really?  No jobs there either?

Yeah, DO NOT COME TO CALIFORNIA, Mr. K., it's turning into a 3rd world nation here. *a Minaret squawks the prayer call outside my window*

Thanks.

Really?  Thanks for that.

Yeah, but some jerkass slashed my mom's car tire, my neighbors got burglarized, the cops do nothing to help and won't take a report, fare for subway and metro train fairs are going up, sales and [state] income tax are skyrocketing.  We went from 8.25% sales tax to 9.75% sales tax, and now it's gonna climb to 10% sales tax.  Also, they're shutting down prisons and releasing convicts due to "budget problems", and that's kinda the last straw for me.

I can't even purchase/carry a handgun for protection.  I was nearly mugged twice not too long ago.

I definitely think that another state is a good Plan B or Plan C.

Julius, may I ask why California is so bad economically when it has the highest GDP per capita of any U.S. state, thus effectively making it the wealthiest one?

I live not too far from Seattle (Tri-Cities area). Washington's pretty cool, once you get past the desert climate. Seattle's in the mountains, so it is cooler there, but it's pretty nice. I don't visit there often, so I can't tell you much.

Try moving somewhere remote, like the Tri-Cities, Yakima, or Spokane for example. The Tri-Cities are pretty calm, hot, dry, and windy, but other than that...

In my experience, few people DON'T act elitist about their place of residence. Obviously, Julius' complaints about California, and my complaints about my home state of Louisiana are exceptions. But yeah, in the same breath that people say how elitist Texans are, they gush about how pretty their state of Washington is.

I mean elitist as in rude to visitors. Some states are pretty friendly to visitors, even if they have unwarranted self importance about their own state. What I've heard from my friend whose been to Washington is they treat you like some sort of alien there. But hey, one person's experience.

We have a rapidly vanishing, of not near extinct middle class, the highest State Income AND sales taxes in the  nations, sky high taxation by a corrupt government, and the cost of living rivals that of Alaska and Hawaii.

And the shoddy economy is 1 of many reasons I'm strongly considering leaving California.

Sorry, I'm not a lot of help :(

It's okay.  I appreciate your effort. That's what she said. xD (j/k)

Yeah! It's great out here, as long as you don't mind some rain

I'm actually from the San Juan Islands, on the coast. But Seattle is a short drive from here, and my grandma lives there, so I visit Seattle pretty frequently.

The only thing that we don't have out here are theme parks.

It really depends on the kind of job. The economy is crap everywhere, and isn't really set to get better (Why did we elect Obama, again?) but I would move here for sure.

Crime is really low out here too, the worst that really ever happens here happens when you leave a new CD on your dashboard and your car's unlocked.

I love da' rain!

Meh, theme parks are gettin' over rated, over priced, and overcrowded.

It's the low crime that I like, along with the state's M3 firearms rated, Shall Issue Carry Concealed Weapons Permit system that WA. has to offer.

As someone who has lived in Texas my whole life, I can confirm that a good chunk of Texans ARE elitist.

There is a lot I love about Texas, but I hate the politics down here. There is also a lot of bible-thumping "holier-than-thou" attitude that goes on here. At least I live near Austin, where people are closer to normal (but they call themselves "weird"). It's also too damn hot.

I completely despise Rick Perry. Sadly, last election, the vote was split so bad that Perry won, despite 60% of the state voting against him...

I hear good things about Oregon....

I don't see a purpose for a concealed firearm out here, but okay then!

I'm just sick of California not letting me have one, but, politics aside, I've just about had it with California's problems.

Well, Seattle is nice :D......NICER THAN CALIFORNIA! :P.  Seriously, I've heard the cost of living is lower, and people are nicer.  I personally can't wait to get outta NY and head back south to North Carolina/Georgia :D

WHAAAT!?  You guys have NO STATE INCOME TAX, a $33 flat fee for auto registration, and at least you guys don't have a 9.75% sales tax, unlike Commie-fornia.  Damn stupid liberals.
