Humanies

The bible, itself, is imperfect.

It contains errors, and after

all, it is of human creation

and therefore it is understandable

that it contains such errors.

HOWEVER, citing it as 'proof' of

'god' will NOT work. Why? Because

of the inconsistencies, errors, and

contradictions. Again, if you mention

something in the bible as a 'fact',

IT CAN, and will be broken

down to it being both of human writing

AND many of it's 'fact's wrong/false.

Additionally, just because someone

in the middle ages wrote a book

of religion, does not in any way makes

that religion 'true'.

BUT, if you say 'The God' itself, then it is

resolved to this: Stalemate. I can not

prove you wrong, but you can not prove

yourself right, either. In other words: 'Where

is your god'? And here this is why

ultimately an atheist is an atheist,

and a religious a religious: one believes

in what 'he can not see, but is there'.

The other does not believes simply because

'there is no proof' of it's existence.

It has been ~50% my fault,

and I understand. I just wanted

to make it clear that 'religion'

is not 'facts' - that is all.

The bible is full of stuff that, when broken down,

IS FALSE FROM A LOGICAL POINT OF VIEW.

I am not going to pick down what

you said, out of respect for the

Catholics around.

BUT, I will tell you:

There are (at least) 3 errors in

what you said.

I'm NOT Catholic.

And remember the science vs. bible part?

There's a verse for it.

Colassians 2:8

Look out: perhaps there may be someone whp wil carry you off as his prey ythrough the philosophy and empty deception according to the tradition of men, according to the elementary things of the world and not according to Christ.

Do you believe God have a name?

Psalms 83:18

(Go read it for yourself, in a actual bible.)

And you know people here die around 70 to 80?

Here's a verse.

Psalms 90:10

In themselves the days of our years are seventy years,

And if becuase of special mightness they are eighty years.

(Use a bible, not "supposed" logic,  to prove or disprove my verses.)

Okay, seriously, enough. I am going to share my favourite quote, because it is applicable.

The most merciful thing in the world, I think, is the inability of the human mind to correlate all its contents. We live on a placid island of ignorance in the midst of black seas of infinity, and it was not meant that we should voyage far. The sciences, each straining in its own direction, have hitherto harmed us little; but some day the piecing together of dissociated knowledge will open up such terrifying vistas of reality, and of our frightful position therein, that we shall either go mad from the revelation or flee from the deadly light into the peace and safety of a new dark age.

-  Howard Phillips Lovecraft

On one side, we have a book, written by mortal hands, and claimed to be the words of god, despite the fact it has been altered throughout history and some scientific discoveries help to disprove many of the things said in it, which leads to more re-writing to accommodate them, or people to fall back on pure blind faith and turn a blind eye to anything that threatens their perception.

On the other side, we have scientists that, to the best of their abilities, make educated guesses as to the nature of things. Point is, both sides don't know the truth, and the real state of the universe and the real way this plane of existence works will likely never be known to mortal man, or even be comprehensible.

Not to be offensive, but that is no truer when it comes to religion. You can argue back and forth until you're blue in the face and the world crumbles around you, and be no closer to convincing the other person that you are right.

Just drop the fucking subject, and in the name of Lord Rremly will someone please lock this topic.

Agreed. As I have said, you can not

prove that your god exist, but I can not

prove that it does not.

Simple as that.

Alright, I don't have to tell you all that something is going wrong and that this topic is about to get locked. Wanna get religious about anthros? wanna discuss your theories about god and furries? then go to the pub. But don't do it here.

that part of this is my fault, and will

of the put. Apologies.

Whooooooo.......

I don't remember where we got on religion, but man, what the heck happened when I couldn't post due to internet filters (wtf?).

Religion+Anthros=?

Religion+Science=Flame wars

Anthros+Science=Disturbing posts (Mainly by me,  sorry :|)

Anthros are mythical creatures, and thus DO NOT exist, CAN NOT be created, and if they CAN be created, they WON'T be created.

Still kinda :offtopic: there, so I'll get us back on.

As I stated in a previous post, as humans or anthros, we just like to be something we're not. That's why, for the 1,000,000 years we've been here, we've dressed up in costumes of whatever (I saw a guy in a breathalyzer costume once) and then just continued doing what we're doing. We do that to be different, to set ourselves apart.

P.S. Vydrach, that is one of THE BEST analogy's ever!

Or just make a second topic in the pub, same subject, just involve religion. And you can let this one be free of heavy debating stuff.

And yeah, the pub is apply only. Since it's on it's beta run, we are not demanding you to be 18+.

Its a topic that'll get nowhere because hurfdurf its two entirely different schools of thought (factual science and theological philosophy).

O_o

Hey are you a Jehovah's Witness or do you study with them or something? Because most don't use the scriptures you used. O_o

And that's a New World's translation you're quoting from right?
