The bacoon just stared at the space ahead of him. Suddenly, something attacked from behind! Flashback "Hey Kyra, when do ya think we get paid?" "Why do you keep asking that question, Kai? Just wait, it'll come." "*sigh* Somehow, I get the feeling we've been ripped off again." Kai and his vixen partner, Kyra were conversing over their completed mission in Forutna. Both were living in the suburbs in their quiet home. Kyra was getting something from the fridge while Kai was watching some political program on TV. The reward for their mission was supposedly $28,190 and that it would have been transmitted to their house immediately "You know what happened to that last guy who didn't pay up until I--" ">.< Ugh, I don't wanna hear that! TMI!" "D*mn, people are starting to take advantage of our charity job. Something's gotta be done about this. They don't pay mercenaries like usually did." "Yeah, but...we didn't sign up for a picnick job, did we?" "No." "Remember Kai, we devoted our lives to serving the better good. Getting into the Cornerian military was bad enough for me, I mean, they wouldn't let a girl, but oh, that Krystal made it in no problem, I ain't heard of her from anywhere. We have to do things our own ways, we shouldn't probably get paid for services, but we were, anyway. So what's more important:the money, or saving lives and making a difference?" "*sigh* Whatever..." Kyra walked into the living room, drinking grape juice. She put her hand on hies shoulder. "Come on, let's go out fo---" Kai felt a sudden disturbance in the air... "What is it?" "Something's up. I think it may be coming from Sauria." "That dinosaur planet?" She blinked "Probably. It's bad. We should investigate." He said, but very unsure "Why?" "I don't know." He closed his eyes and concentrated to search for the disturbance, it was invovling a conflict with 2 tribes he was familiar with:the SharpClaw and the EarthWalker. "Uh-oh, slums against the royals. It doesn't look good." He rose up quickly and ran to the garage, with his friend behind him. "What about Kura?" "No time." He didn't look back, he went on running and jumped into his ship after reaching the garage. It was located underground, it looked typical for a big one:unused and used parts, shimmering lights, and a retractable runway for takeoff. The ships StarBurst Nova and Femme Blaze were side by side, while Kura's custom desgined Arwing was on the far left. Kyra jumped into her cockpit and started up the ship while Kai was already prepared. The turbolift set the 2 ships to the runway. "Good thing we got the ships refueled. Why do you want to do this?" She spoke through her comm. Kai didn't need one since he had telepathy, and communicated with his mind "I just have a bad feeling about this. I feel we should help them out. Now let's go." In fact, like the title suggests, this is the very first franchise in which I created my very first fanfic. Man, how I loved the old days back then. I'm probably gonna have to get back my own knowledge of Dino Language, cause I used it quite well.)) Kai and Kyra had to fly all the way to the other end of the Lylat System in order to reach Sauria, however, they would have to make small pit stops for fuel, and they didn't have hyperdrive systems, so they would have to get there the long way. Plus, getting from one end to the other was a LONG trip, whilst the system was vast. They landed on Katina when their fuel was halfway out. Both of them went to go find a mechanic that could help them spruce up their fighters to get there faster. They were heading to any place that might offer something helpful. They end up in an alley. "I wonder why the fight even started?" Kyra pondered at the thought. "Corruption? Greed? Insecurity? So many possiblities." "Oh?" Kyra stopped and stared in front of something "What is it?" Kai looked at it, too. A big banner on the top of the building said "Gino's Ship Shop. Looks classy." "Hmm." Kai narrowed his eyes, but he could tell that shady places had what he was looking for. "Let's go, Kyra." He push the door open as it creaked loudly in the distance. The place was indefinately shady. Kai could hear the crazy minds of the people making deals here, but shut off the voices in his head. Inside, the place looked like any other performance shop:had many spare parts, some seemed disfunctoinal, rusty, and worn out. Some parts littered the floor around. Kai searched for the owner of the shop, when he spotted a black alligator wearing a leather jacket and jeans. He had an aggravated look on him, as he leered at Kai and Kyra. "What do you want, kids?" He spoke in a deep, raspy voice "We came to see if you have any hyperdrive parts we could use. 2, if you have any." "Yeah, I got...some 'spare' ones....I'll be in back, and see if I have any...." He disappeared behind his workbench. Kai suddenly heard 'clicks' all over the place. He and Kyra pricked the ears and heard him over a comm link "I'm sorry kids, those who want my parts have to fight for the lives." "Damn....>_>, and you said we had to make a deal. Your instincts suck, Kyra" "Oh shut up!" The other people in the shop revealed their guns and aimed them at the 2 companions. "TEAR THEM APART!" Kai immediatley raised his senses and guard as he ignited his lightsaber, while Kyra vanished as soon as the first bolts of energy lanced toward them. He deflected their shots back at a few, as he leapt into the air, disappearing into the darkness. The only thing giving away his location was his blade. He sliced off the ceilings and they smashed onto the floor. The room got dimmer as he slashed away at the other lights, finally, becoming pitch black and deactivated his weapon. Not only could Kai see them well, but also heard their footsteps. Immediately, he jumped down onto one of them and sliced at the chest of an unwary enemy, several sparks flew. The other enemies responded to this and shot at the attacker, but missed. Time to end this. I don't have any time left. He though to himself, and used his TK to snatch the weapons out of their hands, and swiftly sliced them off. He dropped down again from the ceiling and picked off each one of the men. "Eh, heh heh. I'm uh....tied up right now? ^^;" "You're hopeless, you know that? Hold on, I'll play it by ear til I find you." Kai used his sonar to track down the source of something that sounded like grinding. He rushed forward in the dark corners until he came across a danky, empty room. No sign of life around here. He took a good look at his surroundings, and heard some footsteps sounding in the distance. He spun to the left and spotted Gino wielding a thin lance. "So, you think you're all that, huh, kid? Compared to me, those guys were fodder. Now, you've gotta fight the big boss:ME!" The lance's blade was immediately surging with blue ion energy as he charged toward the bacoon. He barely evaded the assault and Gino was coming right back. Kai pulled out his lightsaber and somersaulted over him. He landed right behind him, his back facing his opponent. "Just tell me 2 things, and I'll let you live: 1.)What do is Kyra and 2.)Why is it that I must fight for part that you can get money out of?" The gator remained silent for a bit, then just charged at him again. The bacoon ignited his lightsaber and parried the attack. Gino quickly recovered and tried impaling, but Kai was fending off the blows with moderate difficulty He's strong, I'll give him that. He's got experince with it,too. But everything has a weakness... Kai repelled the incoming blow just before shooting a nick into Gino's lance, causing a quick paralysis and swiftly sliced off the hilt, splitting the weapon in two. The gator fell to his kness in defeat and fear as Kai held the tip of his blade toward his neck. "You want to answer me, now?" "...........*sigh* Whatever, kid. I just stole your girlfriend because I was a little lonely. She was quite sexy, too.....and I wanted to keep the part because I needed to hone my skills, so that eventually I'd make enough money to win a decent tournament. If you let me live, I'll give her back....." "Promise." "Cross my heart and hope to die." Kai withdrew his blade and allowed to Gino to get on his feet. He then guided him into a corrider. Kyra was sitting relatively still. Kai cut off the ropes that tied her and she stood up to face and hug him, then gave him a quick slap to the face. "What was that for?!" "Hmph, you took longer than you were supposed to. You men and your 'pride'." Gino then threw something to Kai to catch in his paw. "Take it, I don't need it anymore....." He just simply disappeared without looking back "Weird . ANYWAYS, let's go. What exactly happened back there, anyway." "Well, um, let's just say:he loved you....." "Whatever, let's hurry up!"
