It's alright. (Not replying to that post I made, I mean.)

Thank you so much for taking the time to give me the gist of how it works, Fluxy. It really helps. I can see how that is much easier to pull off on a basic geometric form, but I still have trouble wrapping my head around that idea for someones face, because the form of that is immensely more complex.

Thanks again for your opinion! It really means a lot.

I really like this last picture you posted, even though you seem to think it has all of these things wrong with it. Definitely not a realistic look, but that's exactly what you were aiming for. If it had slight disproportion in the face it was lost in the 'antimated'/cartoonish look that probably only adds to its charm.

I give it a thumbs up :D

^ Why thank you.

I still, however, think that just because it has a cartoony look to it, that's no excuse for mistakes in proportions. Sometimes, that is a legitimate excuse, (i.e. The manga style tends to have over exaggerated eyes and big heads,) but, if it is not executed properly, then it's bad art. It doesn't matter what style your going for; it's bad. :lol:

Wow! Just saw the animated series one and some of your wolf drawling. I'm impressed. Really love the style developing in there!

As I have read though this thread, I have noticed that your artwork just gets better. Never stop drawing. :D

This one was fun as well as irritating. Although I am pleased with it, there a many problems with it that make me less pleased with it. I did use a reference for this one, but it didn't come out looking quite as good as the reference, lol. There are many problems with his posture that I don't like, but a lot of the shading which I worked so hard on kind of looks... well, all the same shade. :lol:

Also to the previous comments: Thanks! :D

I know the exact reference for that drawing too; nice job on retaining the overall posture and position, I must say. The shading does have a tendency to blend together though. :)

Haha, yeah I figured you would. (Was pretty sure you played the Sly Cooper Games.)

@Krystal's Fiance and TCPeppyTc, thanks!

They surpass StarFox as my favorite series ever, quite frankly. :P - Just curious, but any particular reason you chose that reference?

It was dynamic, and more interesting than just drawing Sly Cooper standing there. I've already got a lot of characters doing that, haha.

I cant imagine why anybody could say your art was bad (referencing poll), yeah its a little rough around the edges, but everyone has to start somewhere, and if you practice it enough, you get better... this is comming from the guy who picked up the pencil just under a year ago, but most of that was quoted from a mate of mine who said the same thing to me.

Digressing aside, keep at it, and you'll go far :P

It was probably from the people who looked at the topic when I first started, and yeah, back then it was bad. :-P (Not to say right now it's very good. :lol: ) Although I've noticed that when I first started, there were a few people who voted terrible, but now there aren't any anymore! Hah! :-P

I've been playing Sly 2: Band of Thieves a lot lately. As I turned the console off when it neared the end of the day, I thought about what I would do next. After playing so much Sly Cooper, I felt compelled to draw the sneaky little raccoon. But I didn't want to do anything really detailed, as it was almost the end of the day. Instead, I decided on doing some crude pen sketches.

Do me a favor and ignore #3, lol.

It really isn't much to show off, which is why I'm only posting it here, (and Imageshack I suppose, if you have a technical mind,) and nowhere else. After being on SF-O for so long and getting to know everyone, it's sort of like a second home. So I feel relatively comfortable showing this on here than I would on some place like Deviant Art.

Anyway, I'm really enjoying Sly Cooper as a character to use in drawing. He can provide so many props, and would be the perfect character to use to show off an environment. Not to mention camera angles. :D

I do enjoy how this last piece of art reminds me quite a bit of the rougher animatics and sketches in some of the behind-the-scenes videos for Sly 1, 2, and 3. Keep at it and it'll be fantastic! ^_^

Thanks Crazy. I'm not quite sure what it is, but I really like sketches... there's just some sort of charm to all the scribbles, I guess. :lol:

Edit: http://terozi.deviantart.com/art/Sly-Cooper-177706654 Beautiful. Just... beautiful. See, it's stuff like that that I hope to do someday. :D

Ah, I remember that piece on dA; one of the best Sly Cooper pieces on there IMO. There's also the obligatory cartoonish-style that suits the series well;

Boom. Unfinished junk I've done while I was absent.

inthecockpit.jpg

foxsketch.jpg

unfinishedhog.jpg

wolfsketches.jpg

saaaaac.jpg

The first one is a very rough sketch that depicts Fox in the cockpit. I wanted to do something that puts me out of my comfort zone and helps me learn more stuff. I should do that more with guns... hurr, durr.

The other two aren't very special... although I halfheartedly wanted to finish that Sonic one...I keep aiming for this really cool looking shaded drawing, but I always end up not being completely satisfied.

The one with the wolf sketches I had references for, and the last one is portraying something that happens to me a lot when I'm in my room listening to music. :-P I don't deliberately ignore people; it's just when I put those particular headphones on, I can hardly hear anything else but the music, haha.

Anyway, this is all unfinished stuff that I don't even really like, but it's suppose to say that I'm still alive and that I hope to be drawing more often as I did before. ;)

Huh. For some reason, if I try and post a direct link in this post like I've done with all the others, I get a message saying, "An error occurred. You are not allowed to use that image extension on this community."

So, I'm using this link instead to Devianart.
