sjrathbun812
It's time... For a fairy... Not exactly the way I imagined it, but it works. Hopefully someday I'll see this drawing and redraw it so it looks more like what I had in mind. And ugh, did I have a rough time with his face! I didn't have a reference, so I just drew him from memory. But even with a reference I always have a hard time with that darn face of his! I have to draw and redraw lines until I'm content with how it looks. (It also doesn't look like he's really holding that bottle...)
sjrathbun812
As of other things, a much improved classic sonic. Criticism is always welcome. For me his hands, shoes, and spikes (it's the third one on his head that I really don't like) could stand some work. I tried making them look as best they could, but I know they still need work. sjrathbun812
I drew a made up character named Daniel. I tried making him look cool but not a, "I'm trying to be cool, but I'm an epic fail," kind of thing. I gave him details like arm and wrist bands, as well as a amulet around his neck, etc. I did a pretty lame job on the seat he's sitting on, but I don't really care because it's not supposed to be the main attraction to the picture anyways. It's a prop, and nothing more. The wings were an interesting addition, too. I wanted to draw a character with white wings, but it suits his character better if they're black. I've only JUST started drawing wings, so they aren't that good...But I'm trying my best.
sjrathbun812
I kinda like how this came out. He's having fun with a flamethrower. xD Just be careful that you don't toast your own hide, fox. Yeeeah this makes me want to draw more starfox again. :D
sjrathbun812
Aaaand another. This time I think Fox's flamethrower looks (a bit) better. And he's got Falco there with his chainsaw.
sjrathbun812
A brief update. I drew this sketch a while ago. Do any of you guys remember that part of SF Adventures? ;)
sjrathbun812
You guys just wait, because I'm not giving up. I like to mess around with different styles. Having multiple references on DA helped me make him more detailed and shaded. I know my shading sucks, but you gotta start somewhere, am I right?

Goodness those ears in the first picture look terrible! *victory dance* Art muse: Hey! I don't know about you, but your newest pic looks nothing like what the professionals can do! Me: *sigh* Yes... I know... Art muse: Do you wanna be better? Me: Yes, ma'am... Art Muse: Than go back to the pencil and paper, and draw us something good for once! Me: Okay okay, I get it...Geez, you're worse then Navi for peets sake...

sjrathbun812
Gee, it's been a while. This isn't Starfox related, or even Zelda related for that matter. But I'd rather not make a separate topic for my original drawings because I don't do these very often. It's some kind of imp. I call it a Cave Imp because when I look at its feet, I imagine it using them to hang upside down in a cave. Mostly though I had the imp from Doom in mind, hence the fireball in his hand, which by the way looks lame. :-P

myu
That is definitely A LOT better. His face has a lot of character. My only critique is that you shouldn't be able to see his abs that, uh, clearly.
sjrathbun812
Haha, I realize that. I didn't try to make it look like that to make myself er... happy or anything. I was only trying to work on my body anatomy, but I guess I went overboard. xD I was trying to go for the original art look if anything, and I didn't have a ref, so yeah. Fluxy
This is definitely a lot more of an improvement! My main suggestion is if you're going to be working on adding values to your art, try not stopping at just a base mid tone. It's hard to really understand what or how to do it if you don't have a light reference, or simply know how light affects shapes and objects under light, but getting your Form Shadows, and Cast Shadows a lot darker would really help pop out your art more, and make it seem less 'flat'. Either way, awesome growth!
