No, no, they're talking about me.  Though he was there too.  By now just about everyone knows that the certain user was me.

Just...    I'm still not even entirely certain why what I did back then provoked the drama that it did.  I honestly thought it would be inspirational, and never expected the horrified the responses.  That, in turn, horrified me, and in turn increased the heat on DZ.  It was like a perfect storm of everything imaginable (or beyond imagination) going wrong.

I still believe in my principles, that hasn't changed.  But I executed them the wrong way, and it made me think that perhaps I'm just not a very good diplomat.  I was honestly beginning to believe I had this magic touch to unite fandoms like I had a decade ago.  But the truth is, back then, I was a teenager who was in the right place in the right time, and I got lucky.  And the forgotten point was that one of the reasons everything went well was that I had people helping me, and mainly kept my hands off all the drama.  But as time went by, I found that I'd never lost the old people's respect and esteem.  In a combination of long-forgotten details and legendary status, I'd begun to believe the myth surrounding me.

But when it comes down to it, I'm just a devoted Star Fox fan with very good web technology skills, who has the caring and empathy to want everyone to be happy, but without the insight to have a clue how to make that happen on a social level.  When the moment arrives, I find myself being brash, arrogant, and more like Dr. House than like General Pepper.  I have no tact.  I've never had any tact.  Pathologically.  So when someone comes down on me like a hardass, it tends to have the opposite of the intended effect, which is part of why I made DZ's staff so nervous.  I thought it better to take a break because, frankly, this is one mischemistry that will never be going away anytime soon.

I mean, I know a lot of people here like me.  And I know some people find me abrasive as hell.  Sometimes it's easier just to remove myself from the equation, at least temporarily.  I'm not a troll.  I'm just sometimes very bad at not appearing like one.

DZ was never so biased.  He and I are just alike in a lot of ways, but with very, very different diplomatic instincts.  DZ is a hard worker who deserves better than the misplaced grief he's been getting.

Considering I suck at this kind of thing, how did I do just now?  Did I do well?

They aren't saying, the best I can give is third hand rumours that seem plausable via PM if you like.

After awhile I can imagine even autistic people can figure out that certain things make people go "waaaaaah!" - they just have a harder time at it than most. XD
