Star Fox Runner
Anybody remember seeing the screenshots for the Resident Evil title for 3DS? Well, a trailer was finally released for it. http://www.joystiq.com/2010/06/22/3ds-resident-evil-revelations-revealed-in-trailer/According to details, Capcom are using their MT Framework engine to make this game, the same engine that was used to make Resident Evil 5 and Street Fighter 4. (Which sort of explains why they are putting Super Street Fighter 4 on 3DS)This brings up a thought, they said that they weren't putting Resident Evil 5 or Street Fighter 4 on the Wii because it wasn't powerful enough to handle them. Yet they are putting the Super Street Fighter 4 expansion, and making Revelations with the MT Frameworks engine on the 3DS, wouldn't that in fact mean that the 3DS is more powerful than the Wii? What's up with that?

What's up with that?I can answer this.About the 'wii not being powerful enough'It was an excuse, as they brought out SF 4 on iphone which is much weaker then the wii.As for the trailer, it's either FMV or CGI. Possabley rendered in the RE5 engine like they did for RE4 PS2.The game itself, unless the 3DS has the power of a Xbox 360, it won't look like in the trailer. If the theory of handheld hardware holds up, it's 2 gens behind the consoles. However, due to various things, we are not getting a new console for another cycle. A couple of years at the earliest. So we would expect something along the lines of either a N64 (with a bit of extra omph as it has to render 1 screen twice) or something around the PS2/Xbox level if we account for the gap in console hardware, again, minus some for having to render twice for 3D. But then again, we haven't actually seen the game yet, it might surprise us.As for graphical quality, the original DS looked like N64 already. And the Kid Icarus Uprising trailer had gameplay in it, and those looked like Gamecube quality graphics. So I think that it'll look better than N64.Back on Topic, I wonder how they will handle this game? Will it stay a third person shooter like RE4 and RE5? With the 3DS's slidepad this is possible. Or will they return it to it's roots like the first Resident Evil?

Or will they return it to it's roots like the first Resident Evil?I'm gonna say it's probably going to return to it's roots like Resident Evil: Deadly Silence, I don't think there is a way in making it a 3rd-person shooter on the DS since there isn't really enough buttons to grab stuff, knife zombies, shoot, kick and a lot of things. But I could be wrong...

But I could be wrong...It has the same as the cube, so it could be RE4 like easy. Also RE4 used the classic control sceme just with a different angle, anolog aiming ect.You might be right about that, it might have been an FMV. Or will they return it to it's roots like the first Resident Evil?Maybe. Assuming it's GC quality, it will still need to render 2 images, so the system will be either very expencive, power hungry, slightly toned down power, or a mixture between. That said, the lower resolution will help somewhat. As for graphics, Im not saying they will GC level as if as it is a bad thing. Check out REGC or RE4 or Twilight Princes or even the original god of wars. Realisticly though, I will be very very suprised if the 3DS can pull of those images in real time at a decent framerate. What I expect is something between RE4 and Umbrella Chornicles or if they go classic, REzero. If you're a horror fan, might be worth keeping an eye on renegade kid, a handheld games company that made the pretty decent looking Dementium games. The original had gameplay issues, and I haven't played the second, but I'm told the main issues of re-spawning monsters and stupid save system is gone.
