ZM Anonymous
Whoa. I come back to this.....>_> First, I find a lot of my pictures on google so sometimes I don't know who the artist is. I'm not even sure which picture R3D5 is talking about. I'm assuming it must be one of the last two I added.....and I don't think it was Evee because her base came from a sort of promiscuous site. So I guessing it must be Falc.....whoaaaaa wait a second. Just checked it out and the the name of the artist that had drawn that picture was Midnight Vixen. So I'm back to wondering who it is now. R3D5 drew Katt. Just because you find them on google doesn't mean it gives you the freedom to manipulate them in any way, shape, or form. I'm just glad I hadn't posted my characters here for fear of art thieves Second. I have no problem with giving credit to the artist for something I photoshopped. Like Saphiria said the artist put a lot of work into those drawings too. But like I said before....I use google a lot. Some pictures are in random places with no artist name or credit at all. Sometimes I get ones that have a link to deviantart or fur-affinity but I don't have a way to get in touch with them. I probably should try harder when that's concerned so I apologize. Crediting artists =/= Full expressed consent. For fuck's sake. when you go to google images and click a picture of a naughty fox girl with huge tits character, click "website for image." If it's on DA, aL, SF-O, or any community website for that matter, make an account and ask the artist nicely with full expressed consent. Thirdly. I saw a comment saying that none of these are original characters. The fact of the matter is, a lot of these characters were made before I even MADE the pictures, before I even KNEW to photoshop. The reason you're noticing them now? Is because people don't take the time to go through FC threads unless they know pictures will be there to entertain them. I photoshopped those pictures to how I imagined the characters MYSELF. Not "Oh, I think I'll just take this picture and make a character behind it." I've seen lots of character threads sans pictures. You didn't MAKE the pictures. you just 'SHOPPED them! And way to assume no one reads, you dick Fourthly. Who is Noe Izumi? I don't who that is, but I can tell you I'm certainly not using his character. I probably used the picture BASE of his character and photoshopped it to look how my FC looks, but I never stole his character. Just like Screech is the picture base of Falco. Or Adam the picture base of Metabee. But I'm not using those characters. We're not talking about using other people's characters. We're talking about why you're stealing the pictures. Also, I can completely understand R3D5 reasons for posting his concern, but some of you have kind of taken this and blown it too far. In less than a day something like this has attracted somewhat of a mob, and it makes me wonder if it was really a good idea to come to this site-even to RP again. Well, if you wanna leave, there's the door. Don't let it hit your butthurt ass on the way out! I'm surprised you haven't even been banned yet
KokoaMinto
^Well if it would be the only case of stealing pictures from other Artists and recoloring them, then there would need to be banned ALOT of Users here, believe me... though I understand your point here a bit, still you don't need to be rude at all. I guess Falcory understands the point of the situation once he read the newest postings. It's only important that he mentions the Artist's name in the future or asks for permission if he made an Account on DeviantArt and/or FurAffinity/Inkbunny (and all other Artists sites I can think of...). Also I already contacted Noe-Izumi about her Stella Hawk in his Avatar. She said she isn't mad at him, she's just a bit upset and he could - at least - ask first before using her without permission. I already told her that he hasn't an Account on DeviantArt so he couldn't ask her, I haven't received a new message of her though so I don't know what will happen now, we will see what will happen. But it's more important to know that Noe-Izumi isn't mad at him, that's what counts the most here.

I condensed his argument into this short statement "I got the pics from Google and shopped them to my liking, without consent. I know you're upset, but it's not my fault." I would be nice and have a little bit of sympathy, but he tried to justify stealing. and to quote Sonic on this: that's no good, and now, emoticons :panic: :panic: :panic: :panic: :panic:

But still I guess Falcory will understand what we want to say and will take more care about it when he finds a character he likes, giving credit to the Artist is fair enough in that point so people can see where the original picture comes from =)
Falcory
The hostility here is amazing so I'm just going to say a few things before I go. Firstly, sorry R3dfive. I got the Katt picture from here and the the other two from deviant art actually. But since it was as an avatar I didn't think anyone would mind. I didn't mean to offend you or upset you in any way. Putting that aside, I'm not to fond of how all of this was dramatized. (I'm sorry about the PMs R3. Don't know what that's about to be honest.) Most of the characters I photoshopped were from other people's art true, but I never claimed to have drawn the picture by hand or make it from scratch. If I could contact those who's bases I used I would gladly ask. But as Saphira pointed out it isn't a crime, it's polite to ask though however. Also the green bird is Celestia Phoenix by Britta113 (Number may be wrong, I'm not sure) who is one person I had tried to reach at one time but never got in contact. Then again, I didn't think people would get so worked up about an avatar, especially over a one where their fan characters are represented as themselves and I'm just showing my admiration for them. It's not even a drama, Falcory. We just wanted to point out to give credit to those who originally drew the pictures, nothing more, nothing less, also I haven't said that you are claiming the ARTWORKS as your own, I just said something about putting the URL to the original Artist so people can see who drew the picture - Which is somewhat hard when you found most of the pictures with Google. I'm sure the owners of the characters are somewhat happy to see that you admire them, but still you can't take them as you wish Like I said, Noe-Izumi isn't mad at you, but she doesn't understand why you are using a character as an Avatar where you can see that he/she belongs to someone. I replied to her PM already on DeviantArt and need to wait for her decision what will happen with your Avatar now. Maybe she will give you the permission to use it, but I won't make a promise about it.
"User"
You guys were all told to take it to PM's and you've continued to debate this publicly with some Ad Hominem thrown into the mix. I'm locking this as a result. Like DZ already said, if we get requests for removal of artwork from the original creator we will look it over and take the appropriate actions. DZComposer
I would also like to add that while you guys are not wrong to call out art theft, try to be a little less insulting. We don't need this turning into a bunch of needless drama.
