Not just "ragging" on it. I still own my copy of MW2 since I got the Hardened edition, and I'd get piss back for trading it in. And to over 90% of my friends, it's overrated because of the multiplayer. Same goes for me, and I tried so hard to enjoy the multiplayer, but they went beyond dropping the ball, they kicked it into Old Man McPherson's yard of doom. The only saving grace, if you could call it that, to MW2 was singleplayer.

I think games affecting people belief in the way life should be is absolute rubbish... People who claim things like that really need to get over themselves, I am perfect proof that things like that dont happen. I have played violent games and watched violent films all my life and im a perfectly repsectable person, I am a QA scientist, ive got a honours degree so i honestly fail to see how games can promote a certain lifestyle.

Now ive had my little rant, red dead redemption was overrated, it was massively repetative, get on horse, ride to given location shoot people, return, repeat... for hours, it drove me mad and the ending was naf to boot. Yet people claimed it was meant to be amazing a revolution in games based on westerns.

I don't mind GTA so much, the stories and such are stupid, but the GTA game engine is so glitchy that awesome stuff always happens, Ultra Ben Bujas videos are a testament to that, but I've seen others. Ninja Cop in San Andreas was a good one. He just hides in the walls at one chicken restaurant, and even if you don't have a wanted level, runs out of the wall the second you come in and just roflstomps everyone, then disappears.

The only reason that I say MW2 is overrated is that it is incredibly similar to the first, with some subtle changes.  So many people claim it to be the BEST SHOOTER EVAR, ZOMGO111!!!!!12311!!!, when there are much better choices.  Don't get me wrong, it's not that bad of a game, but it was just so over-hyped at launch, and those ignorant fanboys that believe it was the first shooting game ever don't help either

What other choices are better? I'm actually looking for other FPS games to play besides MW2 lol. Isn't Wolf 3D the first FPS? Or was it RotT? I forget...

I don't really like NFS that much, I've played a lot of the games and they were okay but not that great.

As far as online FPS goes, I prefer Bad Company 2 much MUCH more, as it is more balanced. For CoD style FPS though, the CoD 4: Modern Warfare was much better than Modern Failure 2.

And last I heard, Wolfenstein 3D was the first big FPS game.

BC2 I've heard a lot about it. I'll check it out when I can. I have CoD4 already haha. Have you ever used the programs to edit Wolf 3D? It's pretty badass making your own levels, characters and editing your own sounds to it.

BC2 took it upon themselves to be direct rivals to MW2, and did most everything to counter-act MW2, actually, to spite it. They frequently insult MW2 in the singleplayer. And they have dedicated servers and such, so it's better as far as lag.

Actually, a better example would be in BC2 when they mention, "Some spec-ops pussies with heartbeat monitors" or "Snow-mobiles are for sissies."

I forgot to mention. I feel Battlefeild BC2 is over rated, I don't like it for many reasons:

1) The weapons are useless, their accuracy is unbelievably stupid (not sure if that is how they are IRL but if I wanted to have RL weapons I would go to a firing range and/or buy a simulator)

2) The large maps are too enclosed to incorporate vehicles as in vehicles are useless. If u get in open ground of a tank you're screwed, or even a buggy for that matter.

3) Spawn killing is huge.

4) Working your way up to unlocking weapons is pointless since you just unlock them, there is no attachments, makes them pointless to use.

5) No killstreaks? Makes me feel unrewarded if I go get 10, 20, 30, 32403470235987 kills in a row

Yeah, just some pet peeves of mine.

1) Weapons aren't that bad once you get the feel of them

2) Vehicles aren't totally useless, although the lighter vehicles like Humvees could be a little tougher

3) Haven't encountered much of it yet, although it is a valid point.  You must admit though, it's definitely not as bad as MW2!

4) There are attachments for the weapons that need to be worked up toward.  The All-Class weapons that you just unlock have no attachments

5) You are entitled to your opinion :D

1) I can't get a feel for them in BC2, that's my point. Me and many, many others.

There's no 'spawn killing' in MW2. They do however somehow always spawn you behind the last person that killed you. I play SnD so spawning is no problem...

No, because if A says "Game X is overrated because of this!" and 'this' is a lie/misconception/something you might be able to convice them about then it's fair game I think. For example

Babyish games are great. Technically mario is a babies game, as is Ratchet. Already mentioned but insert back to the future quote here.

Modern Warfare 2 is completely unbalanced garbage. It is made with these STUPIDLY over powered "Flashy" kill streaks so that little billy who got the game for his birthday will go "oooooooh!" And tell all his friends, Causing the game to self-market like WILDFIRE. The story line although is superb. I have played through the entire story + spec-ops. Those I admit are solid. But when it comes down to competitive (Or even RECREATIONAL) gaming, The game is SO unbalanced that some random guy can fire a "Grenade Launcher" Randomly throughout the map and get multi-kills as he pleases. Now, they DID release a weapons update fixing damage and bullet spread for some of the weapons how ever the "Noob Tube", RPG and other instant kill weapons + Kill streaks are completely UNFAIR and ruins my gaming experience. This game is so terrible that MLG (Major league Gaming) wont even have a bracket for it! it would be 6 on 6 with Noob tubes and rpgs galore!

If you disagree, That is fine. That is YOUR opinion. HOWEVER! When you want to have a BALANCED/LEGITIMATE challenge, Ill be waiting on CS 1.6.
