Do you believe Fox has legit reasons to be in love with Krystal?

Fox X Krystal has brought up a bit of controversy over WHY Fox is attracted to Krystal. Some people believe Krystal is better off on her own or even....dump Fox for Panther.

If we look at this from Fox's point of view, he just randomly see's Krystal, notices "she's beautiful" and all of a sudden wants to save her in order to get to know her and/or fall in love with her. Krystal then follows up her being saved by Fox by somehow letting him know she is attracted to him just because he saved her life. Can anyone make sense of all this nonsense? (which was only made worse through Assault and Command)

Well I don't know about Fox but Krystal might have some reasons.

1. Fox saved her from being killed by Andross

2.Fox is willing to listen to her (in some cases if you count Command)

3.She knows Fox will protect her.

That's all I can think of...

And as far as I've seen Fox has more of an infatuation which Krystal, which doesn't quality as love in my books.  Therefore nothing's been definitively proven yet but as Julius pointed out, they do have some good things going for them. :)

But, as far as we know, only Fox has saved her life I don't know if Krystal is really flirty at all. I mean, she practically turned away Panther in Assault (in Command though...well, that was really about circumstances but...)

Panther was a tool to fuel Fox's jealousy  a tactic that backfired. Had he shown jealousy instead of being so dang depressed maybe Krystal would have come back.  But  I guess he didn't have the guts for it or something.

To answer the thread title question, yes. I have spoken my thoughts about this before, and I will do it again.

When Fox first saw Krystal, his reaction came off to me as someone who has seen something like Krystal for the very first time, and he was (as Mr. Krystal put it in one of his articles) enamored with her. The rest of his dialogue and actions in that scene seemed like he could not stop thinking about her. It comes off like love at first sight to me. And throughout Adventures Fox's drive to save Krystal became very apparent and he even says later (in the Walled City stage) that she was his main reason for collecting the Krazoa spirits. When Krystal was about to be released, Fox thought something really bad was going to happen to her and he seemed as urgently concerned as I have ever seen him. Then when the diamond holding Krystal was destroyed, Fox saved her from falling to her death by using the staff. The two then looked right into each other's eyes for a few seconds and you could see some real emotion (affection) there. Yes, she was a little rude following that, but I attribute that as still being somewhat shaken to being released from confinement after many many days, and while Fox was out fighting Andross, Krystal probably took some time to reflect on what had just occurred and what Fox did for her then. A little time later when the fighting was over, Krystal came to the Great Fox to personally thank him for saving her (both from being trapped in that diamond and from falling to her death). Fox gets flustered and blushes at this, most likely because he had never encountered  this situation before. It is also funny to note Falco's little encouraging smile and nudge to Fox in this scene practically telling him, "go to her, buddy" (which to me is most likely because he knew what was happening after being with Katt ). the scene (and game) ends on a fade-out shot of the two smiling very sweetly at each other, showing where their relation was going (it was love ). Listening to the cut audio pieces from the game (especially the the last one   "Well, it all hinges on one thing: I'll only join, if you kiss me.") also give an indication as to the direction Fox and Krystal's relationship was going.

Krystal is then made apart of the StarFox Team and Fox trains her to become a skilled member. She now had a home again after loosing her original one (Cerinina). The 2 spend a year together before Assault takes place growing steadily closer over time and backing each other up in battle. Then came Assault, their first major struggle together. Throughout the game Fox and Krystal made protective remarks and actions during many of the missions showing IMO how far their feelings for each other were developing. Then there is the Sauria part of the story. During the briefing scene Krystal makes a flirtatious remark to Fox and he seems a little awkward about it, though he did answer her positively. This could be because it came right out of the blue and he wasn't prepared for it. Then there is the end (honeymoon ) cutscene. Fox became all awkward again and somewhat taken aback by Tricky's honeymoon comment because it was again, unexpected and out of the blue. That and Fox's romantic relations with Krystal was a personal matter and Fox's comment, "We're not... Not yet..." tells me that  were having clear romantic relationship (flirting, dating, etc.), but had not reached the honeymoon stage just yet. That and there is Krystal staring and smiling flirtatiously at Fox during the whole scene as if to say, "I knew it." And notice she does not say anything during Fox and Tricky's argument until right before the scene ends.

And I said all of those 2 paragraphs without mentioning Krystal's telepathic abilities, which (as Vydrach has mentioned before) would no doubt be able to sense how Fox truly feels for her.

As for the deal with Panther, he has been reputed by Nintendo on his SSBB trophy, in the SF: Assault instruction manual, and in the SF: Assault player's guide to act the way he does around all attractive females. And to quote myself from another thread about the issue of Panther being around around Krystal:

In Assault it seemed to me that he did not directly make any real attempts on Krystal, and most of what he said to her seemed more in the way of complements than actual hitting.

In fact he might even already know that her feelings are for Fox and not him. Case in point, during the Corneria mission when Panther asks Krystal if she would like to ride on his wing. Krystal responds with, "As long as I'm covering Fox." Panther replies back with, "Heh heh. Okay. Fine." and the tone in his voice kind of backs it up IMO.

As I have said in a couple other posts, if Miyu is brought back to the franchise, pairing her with Panther (just like with Bill and Fay ) could make some interesting plot development. As well as putting an end to the relation with him and Krystal, and of course giving StarWolf an even number of pilots with StarFox.

Fox and Krystal have done everything in my opinion to deserve each other. Fox saved her life, gave her a place to call home, a family, has been there for her ever since, would listen to her, protected her in battle, and he would do anything for her. And Krystal repays him by protecting him and backing him up just as he does with her. And as Julius has already said in this thread, they have some certain things in common.

All of this makes Command's most pathetic plot point of Fox kicking Krystal off the team for her safety, absolutely impossible in my eyes. Krystal is a strong and able fighter, and it always strikes home to me that Fox in Adventures and Assault knows that. The Fox from those two games would never do that, he would keep Krystal safe by protecting her with his life.

Sorry, if that seemed long, but this is just something I really wanted to express, since  is my favorite VG pairing of all time.

We can either agree, or agree to disagree about this matter. This is all just my opinion. It is how the SF story comes off to me whenever I play the games.
