Asper Sarnoff
Just to get an overview, I want to ask if there's anyone here who have a religion of sorts they believe in, and if so, which one.Remember, there's no "wrong" or "right" way of belief, and if I spot someone trying to hint to something like that, I'll let slip the dogs of war. So please keep this civil folks.Myself, I'm sort of midway between being atheist and into Norse paganism. The supernatural filling in where science has yet to come with a satisfying answer. You? Sarita
I am an odd mish-mash of beliefs. I was raised Baptist and as I grew older, they really started to piss me off. So now I'm mostly agnostic with some beliefs from Christianity and (believe it or not) Wicca mixed in.
Steve
I'm mostly atheist. Don't know, don't really care. As far as it goes to others, my statement remains, I don't care (aka, I respect other beliefs), as long as they don't go "must suffer in this life to gain something after I'm dead" or "Praying will solve all my problems" ( after all, you are supposed to pray to thank god for what you have, not to tell him "god, I need more money, gimme")

This comment is full of a whole lot of "makes no sense."You DO know if you're not Catholic and you consider yourself a Christian, you're Protestant, right? (Example: Baptists are Protestants, Lutherans are Protestants, Mormons are crazy... I mean protestants. No offense intended if anyone here is a Mormon.) "User"
You DO know if you're not Catholic and you consider yourself a Christian, you're Protestant, right? You're forgetting about people who are Orthodox. That's neither Catholic or Protestant. As for me I'm a Protestant Christian born and raised by parents with the same beliefs, and I hold true to them. The whole "Don't know, don't care" thing.Anyway I'm Christian.Just. Christian. I was raised Methodist, Presbyterian, Baptist, Penecostal, and a few other things, but I refuse to affiliate with any doctrine or formal church. I understand some people need a formalized church to better understand God, so I'm not knocking other churches, but they aren't for me. My focus on Christianity is mostly on the "Christ" part, as well, instead of arguing over if Noah's Ark was real or not, or whatever. Because you know, that is what Christian means: Christ follower.Oddly enough, according to a Muslim I know, my means of worshiping God are more similar to the Muslim style than the Christian style, although I really am a smooth mixed blend of the two. (Muslims focus on "praising God" and seving him, and traditionally are very low-key, humble, and devout, and keep to themselves. Christians focus more of "spreading the praise", as per Christ did, sharing their faith with others to help better their lives. Basically, pilgrims.) Robert Monroe
I almost became a Buddhist....You know, I never really considered Buddhism a religion. Its a philosophy. Sure, all other religions are that too, but they're theological philosophies. Buddhism lacks any god or deity. Yes, there is Nirvana, but that's a CONCEPT of self-being, not a deity, or a place like Heaven/Hell. A lot of Buddhists I've met are usually practitioners of other religions as well. My brother is sort of one of them.Just my two cent.

DZComposer
I am an atheist. I find it hard to follow a set of beliefs that has led to so many atrocities over time, and the vast majority of religions have history of genocide and forced conversion under thread of slow and painful death. Not to mention being used as a tool to oppress and control minorities and the poor. You will find that I have a very cynical view of religion.I won't chastise people for their beliefs, but if you approach me and try to proselytize, I will return fire. Vy'drach
Not really noticing any religions that fit me, and not wanting a "close enough" one, I made one tailor fitted to me, with my ideals. It mostly started as a joke however, but then I actually started following it.
Guest DRL
My story about "Religion & DRL" is ratherweird:I was taught to be a Catholic Apostolic Roman.Or whatever it is written in English. At an early age, (say, 10 years old)my vision of Religion/Science/Worldconflicted. Ultimately, Wolrd & Science 'won',casting Religion aside. I became 'de facto' anAtheist. But I still made it like I was a religious, and I did not lose faith completely. Then, a innerfamiliar conflict, added to the death of my pet, made me drift fast into the Atheism fast; no longerI simply "unbelieved" - I actually decided to back mynon-belief with claims. Still, a faintly-still-believer partof me still hoped such facts never came. But they came, and my Atheist part of me made sure their logic was strongand steady. By my 11 years, I lost all faith in the CatholicChurch, and after learning what they did in the past, I stilldepise it.Many years later, say, while I was 15, I began to fall againunder the influence of religion; but not Christian at all. Rather, some form of Therian/NeoPaganism. This made me becomea vegetarian (or 'vegan' as you may call it)' - A trait which I stillhave today. Still, this new attempt was fiercely questioned bymy rational/Atheist mind, and it once again came 'victorious'.At this same time I beggan to know about the furry, and feelinginclined to being one, I learned more about this nature-loving religion.I was interested, but my rational mind did not give up; every now andthen it made quick, deadly strikes. This would be felt by me later, as of 17 years old; I was by myown standards a furry. Until a few months ago, my rational mindonce again forced me into facts; beliefs were questioned and crushed, and being I a guy who cannot 'blindly believe' easily, the rational mindwon. As of today, I state that I have no religion, and in fact, are drifting towardsthe Anti-Religion camp. I am no longer a furry, but still a vegetarian. Fira-Astrali
I wasn't really raised with any particular religion, but i've always been a spiritual person, and i couldn't embrace atheism because i dont believe that a world this intricate could be a cosmic co-incidence. I ended up with Wicca, because it was most in tune with my already established spiritual beliefs. parents weren't to happy, but it didnt make nearly as many waves as i thought, which was nice ^^;It was funny, because it was actually BECAUSE of science that i ended up getting deeper into religion I was sitting in chemistry class, and my teacher introduced the Law of Conservation of Mass, which states "matter is never created or destroyed, it only changes form" and the idea of applying that to the spirit hit me like a tonne of bricks.
