First or second hand games?

A rare game I've been keeping an eye out for has turned up. I'm not telling you what in case one of you dastardly rascles buys them both and makes me pay through the nose.

Thing is, one is new, one is second hand with instuctions. £15 and £5 respectfully. My question is would you gamble on a second hand version?

If its possible to get something new id always go for the new ones, especially when your talking about sucha  small amount of money, if the new one was a couple of hundred, id probably have a dif view, but for 15, id go for the new one rather than risk the second hand one not working.

Depends on how much you like the game, that's how I decide things, if a game is really worth its price, get it new, even if it's old. If you still like said game, but you believe it's not worth the full price, then second hand BUT with full instructions is the way to go, as long as the disk doesn't have any major scratch marks, of course. After all, you can get 3 second hand games for the price of  1 so  :P

Being a half-retro-gamer, all of my games are second-hand.  I've never had a problems with any of them, you just have to buy from a reputable source (but I'm sure you knew that already .) However, I've also bought several used gamecube games, and they've performed better than expected.  You just have to watch out sometimes .  For newer systems, I always buy new .

Well it does depend on the game, if its a rare game, that doesn't automatically make it a sought after game, so £15 could be about right for it

Well, I'm the guy who will give a lot of different video games a shot. : /. Cheap video games are my friend at this point since I'm running out of some to play.

I go for first-hand unless second-hand stuff is the only thing I can find. My copy of Assault is second-hand, because I've never stumbled over a brand new copy of it in any store here.

Ok, I've put my money down and thus will reveal what the game is/was. It is a very little known game, only made in small amounts, and is so obscure not even moby games has it listed.

Furry Tales. A PS2 stratagy game where you play as 1 of 2 factions, wolves or sheep. The twist? They all have machine guns.

I only ever saw it in a shop once and I didn't have the money (it was a household shop, not a games one). It's even more obscure then Conflict Zone, Ruff Trigger and Carmen Sandiego: Secret of the Stole Drums.

My xbox/wii are modded to play pirated games... thus, I dont pay for games. Although when I am too lazy to download/Burn 360 games... I buy them off a guy for $5 each...

And ANYTHING on the PC is piratable so, Self Explaining there.

Trust me, I download shit left and right. All the companies can do is give you a slap on the wrist. (Meaning they email you saying Dont do that!)

The worst i've had was my ISP (Rogers) said "We're basically grounding you from your internet for 24 hours for downloading 20 Wii Games"

And im behind so many proxies its not even funny.

Trust me, I know what im doing.

You gotta buy a 360, With a hard drive. (The Plain combo pack comes with the basics) so thats like $250.

Then you need $40 to mod it (Thats what my guy charges)

and he lives in Etobicoke.

But then theres a guy who sells the games $5 each or 7 for $25 and he lives right @ 10 and Williams Parkway.
