I recently got back to a book I put down for a while, and I notice for the not going anywhere subplot, I skim over stuff. For the main story I solve every word and try and work out the names where possible. What about you?

I either look it up for the pronounciation or just try to say it right. I know Mr. Krystal has a hard time doing it.  :P

If someones near I ask em, otherwise I just insert a meaning that could possibly make sense.

I tend to think i understand most words and their meanings, but should there be something i come across its very important that i do get it right... so i will 'discretely' ask around or check with a dictionary (its usually medical words that catch me out but i have a medical dictionary too) as most dictionary's will include a comment on the way it should sound. For example:

Relating to a body part that has become small and lost its use because of evolutionary change.

I tend to find that works perfectly well (sorry for the random word, its just what i was writing at the time i saw this post.
