Robert Monroe
Bad.Ish. Pushes into eugenics territory. Some enhancements aren't honestly bad, but the second we start sacrificing our good old fashioned fleshy bodies for robot ones, we can kiss our evolution goodbye. Sabre
I don't see how. We'd still reproduce the old fasioned way I think. Even if not, we've barely changed in 10,000 years. I think yearly advances would be better.
Asper Sarnoff
I don't see how. We'd still reproduce the old fasioned way I think. Even if not, we've barely changed in 10,000 years. I think yearly advances would be better.Well, barely changing over such a long time is perhaps an understatement. We're gradually growing taller and living longer for example. While not result of Darwins theories about survival of the fittest, but instead of easier and more nutritious style of living, it can also be viewed as evolution of some kind. Just taking a look at various ethnicity's will also support that evolution might work a little faster than one may first think. As for the question at hand, I'm moderately excited about the possibilities provided by integrating technology into the human body. Provided it wouldn't have too many unfortunate side effects on the natural parts of the body, I'm for it. But I don't want to become a slave off or dependable on technology to get along if I can avoid it.Example, implants stimulating the production of adrenaline, boosting ones athletic abilities at whim, might sound very tempting. But it would also completely skewer the natural production of this hormone. One would become dependant on the implant, like a junkie would on drugs, to be able to achieve effects when one otherwise would be able to achieve a natural rush. Sabre
As you said about junkies. A very real possablility, but you also said the problem with the evolution theory is that sexual and social sellection are the main driving forces now. Also, 60,000 years or whatever since we left africa (assuming we are using the out of africa theory) and all we got was some different colours and some weird hair? That's still not alot, and that was when survival of the fittest was in effect.Blackjack SPOILERS!In the film, there is a sudden spike in super taleneted people. 10 years later they all start dying. Turned out Dr found a way to almost always on adriniline. The problem was the persons bodies were wearing out in 10 years instead of 50.

Redeemer
Did someone say cake?I think it could be a good thing, but as with all good things, it'll be so easy to abuse a misuse it.Edit: I'm still talking about the cake.
