Hi,

I prefer desktop in any case. I need the high power to run Microsoft Flight Simulator with many many add ons. And it is much cheaper and easier to exchange some parts of the PC if you need more power or have any defects.

I have four desktops here in my room, which are all connected to run the Flight Simulator on four screens with some extra hardware in my "home cockpit":

Shit :o

Hi,

my configuration is not even ready yet. I need to add a autopilot panel between the screens and I'm gonna use my 32" LCD TV as "wind shield" on the top. But until it is completely finished, it will take a few more months.

Btw: I know a lot of people, who have a "REAL" cockpit in their home, like this guy, who lives not too far from me: http://flightdeck737ng.de/History.htm

There are even some companies, who do nothing but build these kind of simulation hardware for home- and semiprofessional use.

Yes, Flight Simulator pilots are crazy - but we love it!

uhh, of topic. laptops are porable but wit out the internent what is the point

...Aside from the fact that most laptops have a place where you can plug in an ethernet cable to get Internet, most also have wi-fi that ALSO allows one to connect to a LAN to get Internet wirelessly. So I don't really see your point.

ya but not in the car or at many buildings around town

If you're in a car you probably don't need the Internet, and some buildings around town have Wi-fi :)

I think the main point here is that your statement was a bit ambiguous - if you have Internet service at your home, it doesn't really matter if you have a laptop or a desktop, because both can take advantage of it, so there isn't really any difference between the two when it comes to being able to connect to the Internet.

Desktop is more convienient... it will always have a faster speed (almost always anyway...) than a laptop and will almost always get better service.... laptops have about the minimum of whats needed to make it work........

has this ever happened to you? :compcrash: I THINK NOT lol

Yep I'm running windows 98se. The desktop, and the laptop both belong to my parents. So I'm stuck with a computer that's incredibly old.
