"Is it just me being prompt for the first time or is it taking everyone a very long time to get here?" Arashikage asked his red and black vixen friend

"Well, I suppose most people are there.

When they got to their rooms Hammond

will tell us, or so I hope, then this should

finally being." Replied Interlocke.

(She said that after everyone has taken

a decision, be it to go to their quaters or

join the Meeting, Hammond will hopefully

tell so.)

(Okay so if I understand correctly, the meeting won't happen if most of the people choose to go to their quarters)

(No, Hammond will tell us when

there is no more people at the

restaurant.)

"I guess that one question to come soon

is: 'can I haz weaps plz?' " she said in a

"Huh?  From whom?" Arashikage asked, aroused from his daydreaming

"Well, a few people were talking

about weapons, arsenall, and such

before we arrived here. I suppose

sometimes people is too much paranoid..."

She replied, not sounding too much exited

either.

"It just shows weakness and insecurity, they don't trust in Hammond or his professional staff, and they feel the need to have a weapon with them to feel safe" Arashikage said

John Hammond, who was just a few

seats away, said "Well, thank you."

"You're welcome" Arashikage said returning to his thoughts about owning dinosaurs with Chuck Norris roundhouse kicks and saving the people of the island from the dinosaurs and winning Interlocke's love, as that last thought hit him, Arashikage looked toward Interlocke quickly, looked back, blushed and dismissed the fantasy

(Okay, should we leave the visitor centre tour, where we are explained how we managed to close dinosaurs in the first place, the next day then? See as it's getting to late now. If so, we could put that in before I take the visitors for the tour around to the Raptor pen, and then end the day with the vehicle tour around the island.)

(Whatever works, I suppose, Asper.)

Ris quietly leaned back in his seat, not talking much, Arashikage's voice as well as Interlocke's simply washing over his ears.  He wasn't exactly spaced out, but he certainly wasn't focused on those around him.  Maybe of thoughts of those around him, but not themselves in this particular moment.

One thing on the Arctic Fox's mind was he had actually eaten a full meal.  It wasn't often he did that, what with his life being the way it was.  When he wanted to, he couldn't, and when he could, he generally didn't want to for fear of getting used to eating a lot.  See, money wasn't exactly bountiful to him.  It was most likely to do with the fact that he didn't have a job, and nor was he looking for one.  All in all, concerning his issue, if you would call it such, was all due to his own choices.  Not that he really cared--He was still content with life.

Another thought his mind came across was the fact of most everyone--the visitors--seeming so needy on the island.  Everyone seemed to want weapons, thinking they were here to kill the dinosaurs.  Ris visibly rolled his eyes at the idea.  Why would they want to kill the dinosaurs?  From what he had seen during the tour, they were fascinating, and not everything could catch this blue vulpine's eyes.  They seemed perfectly harmless, too, so long as they weren't disturbed, or as Sarah had put it, they were much like bees.

In that aspect, of course.

Still, he tried not to think poorly of everyone who wanted a weapon so badly.  After all, Tala wanted one, too, and he liked her.  She was a good she-wolf, from the times he had met her in his various encounters with Krystal, at the least, and Ris hated to think she was weak and insecure simply due to that fact.  He knew she would win in a sniping competition any day, though of course, that was just sniping.  It didn't really count when that was something they excelled in.

Which led his train of thought to his own combat.  Ris hardly ever used weapons, and when he did, they were simple bullet-loaded pistols.  He felt uncomfortable using anything else, and he himself wasn't even too sure why.  It was just the way it was.  Most of all, though, the fox enjoyed hand-to-hand fighting.  Ris wasn't the best--seeing as there is always someone better than you in the world, and considering there were many worlds in the Lylat System, there were likely to be many people better--but that was his best and he would continue to get better.

Giving a light nod of satisfaction, as if to ease his own worries and end his inner discussions, Ris blinked and looked around the room, returning to reality.  He glanced briefly over at Interlocke and Arashikage before returning his gaze to the ceiling, not finding much else better to do.  Ris wasn't much of a social person right off the bat, and seeing as Tala wasn't there at that very moment he didn't have anyone he really wanted to talk to.  Mentally shrugging it off, he closed his eyes, idly listening to the conversations around him but taking no part in them otherwise.

Guest Mr. Mario

Norman rolled up his sleeve and looked at his right arm that was badly injured during a fight with one of the criminals that he had to take down...it was still bloody but he had it wrapped up before he could possibly die, he hoped that his left arm wouldn't end up like his right arm while he was here...

'Hopefully, nobody knows about my tattoos...' He thought, rolling his sleeve back...

If so, we could put that in before I take the visitors for the tour around to the Raptor pen, and then end the day with the vehicle tour around the island.)

(O-Kay, when we leave we will

explain everything that was not

explained today.)

"Alright, it is getting late, and it seems

most people are already here. If you

have any doubts or questions, I will

be happy to answer them." Said Mr. Hammond.

"Yes, I have one." Said Dr. Grant. "How did you

exactly recreate these dinosaurs?" He inquired.

"Good question, Dr. Grant. But that one is reserved

for tomorrow's trip. We will show you how we recreated

the dinosaurs and a we will have a cinematics show.

...Do you have any other doubts?" Asked Mr. Hammond

to anyone in the room.

After a brief silence, Dr. Ian Malcolm started to speak:

"Well, thing is, you can't contain life in fences.

It is not something you can keep in the same place

for too long, it will just... Break free. Like the Chaos

Theory. Someone else here supports the Chaos Theory?"

He asked.

(Okay Asper, your turn if you want to explain Malcolm's

perspective.)

(I'll give it a try.

For the information of everyone but DRL, I'm going to sometimes take upon the role of Ian Malcolm in this roleplay, especially in some of his more philosophical moments. It might end up being a little difficult to follow, but it does indeed keeps true to the spirit of the original JP novel, which was half dino-action, and half scientific and philosophical monologues like this.)

Malcolm's eyes swept over the people gathered around the table in absolute silence. "I'll take that as a confirmation that you haven't really been informed about the wonder that is the theory of chaos?" He asked with a tacked-on surprised outlook. There was the odd shocking of heads around the table, and a heavy sigh coming from Hammond. Malcolm let out a sly smile. "Excellent, that's a clean slate to work on." He leaned back in his chair and gathered his fingers in a pyramid. "Chaos Theory is really as simple, and complicated, as that it says that nothing is completely predictable. And this is not just a pessimistic outlook, as in Murphy's laws, but rather based on the fact that an event, no matter what it is, will have countless minuscule variables affecting it in various ways, which if let have an effect over a long enough period of time, will always make sure a result differs from what originally predicted."

Satisfied, he eyed the confusion this simple lecture had caused among his fellow guests. "Okay, let me give you a real world example. People claim that it's easily possible to calculate the movements of a billiard ball as it ricochets over the snooker table for ever, given it was able to keep going. And sure, by looking at just the angle it hits the edges and other balls, it should theoretically be possible. Well, but that is only in theory. In real life, no snooker table is perfect, and no ball is perfectly round. It will have microscopic patches of unevenness, the ball a center of gravity a split millimeter from the real centrum. And as time goes by, these tiny variables will ultimately affect the final result, throwing the ball into courses which were totally unpredicted. And that, ladies and gentlemen, is Chaos Theory for you."

Now, it had seemed to sunk in to everyone. And Hammond was obviously less than satisfied with the way the conversation had taken. Malcolm decided to keep going, now that the ball were in his hands. "And to give you another example, we can take Mr.Hammond's," He gestured over the table at Hammond. "Little playground here on this very island. What you, in best faith, I am sure of that, have done, is making the mistake of believing you CAN predict where the ball is going."

He paused for a moment to let it sink in. "You have done something very impressively I must confess, I'm still baffled by the fact you did it, and I'm very eager to get to know how you did so. But that doesn't change the fact that what you have done here is very much a gamble with high stakes. You've done something which mother nature never intended, by taking animals long extinct and placing them in a current environment, confident in your belief that you will be able to control whatever result you might get. And this, as you all know, has a heck of a lot more variables to it than the example with the snooker ball I told you about.

You've stood on someone else's shoulders to achieve a result faster than you would have done alone, and while you've been busy imitating God, you've forgotten the backside, that when you stand on someones shoulders, it's a longer way to fall.

Your experiment here, while impressive, is actually a sheer stupidity, and... I'll be there when you realise that."

Malcolm once again leaned back in the chair, awaiting the reply.

( GrEaT work Asper! :D )

As soon as the scientist fininish

explaining, the lawyer, Ronald

Gennaro, enthusiasted spoke:

"Well, I do not care if it breaks

down or an UFO comes and takes

everyone and everything off this

planet. What we have here is a

unique opportunity - specially for

us humans - to see animals which

have been long ago extinct. Imagine

the faces of the people looking at

the dinos... Imagine them taking

out their ultra-gold credit cards paying

for the entrace..." he spaced a little

with his illusion.

John Hammond facepalmed at both

Dr. Malcolm and Mr. Gennaro.

"First, I am spending millions to make

sure this place is safe AND" he looked

at the lawyer - cheap for everyone.

Sure, not everyone might be able to

come, but I do not want just the super-rich

to visit us, I want the common guy and his

family to do so." He sighed and paused.

"What's wrong with you people? I bring

you, of different proffesions and lifestyles

so that you defend me from this character,

and the only one on my side is the money-sucking

lawer!" Ranted Hammond, then he tried to calm

down.

"To be honest, Mr. Hammond." - Interlocke spoke -

"This place seems interesting and everything, but

of course we must take into account that as Dr. Malcolm

stated, not everything is 100% certain, and we do have

a small chance of accidents. Furthemore, this place seems

really interesting to humans, but to us, who travel among

many systems, the creatures are interesting, sure, but

on the long run it is just a regular 'exotic animals' zoo.

I have to say I am interested by these creatures, however,

and I am willing to continue the journey. I also trust that

your security can keep us safe - at least for as long as we

remain here." The vixen finished talking, and althrough

she could not make Hammond smile completely

[in fact, there was a tint of dissapointment in his face]

he rejoiced at the girl's last words.

"Of course!" he said, a faint smile on his face.

"Rest assured we work day and night to make

sure everything is as safe as possible on the

Jurassic Park!" he added, althrought not everyone

was convinced by this, specially the scientists.

"Well... Do you have any further doubts? Questions?

Anything?" A brief silence followed, almost interrupted

by Ronald Gennaro; he was about to ask a question

related to money, but Hammond made him back down

with his glare alone.

Ris listened intently to Malcolm, but in the end he mentally dismissed it with a small wave of his hand.

'Chaos Theory...You're right.  It's constantly working--Funny how that works, isn't it?  It's nothing new here on the island, so stop whining about it.' he thought to himself, giving a light roll of his eyes.

People these days.

Idly raising his hand, continuing to lean back leisurely in his chair, the Arctic Fox spoke up, saying, "Hammond, I'll just say that I trust ya.  I've enjoyed my time here so far--good dinos, good food, all that stuff.  The only downside is all the skeptics here."

good to see someone is enjoying

his stay." and a quick nod.

"Oooooh I get it, I guess then this park wouldn't be such a problem!" Norman said with a grin...

'It'll be a problem in court, regardless of what you tell me...' He finished in his thoughts.

Ronald Gennaro noticed what

Norman was doing and winked

at him.

John Hammond noticed the wink

and looked at the lawyer, then

at the fox. "Wait - You are not

ANOTHER lawyer, right? I hate

lawyers, allways taking away

one's hard-earned money..."

He said.

"Just wanna say, Norman," Ris began with a light smirk, "you're just an 'agent' now.  Forget about the secret part."
