Survival in Jurassic Park

"I just find it funny how this is Jurassic Park but Tyrannosaurus's weren't around since the late Cretaceous period" Arashikage said

"Oh, that is fine then." Replied Interlocke.

About the Cretaceous perioud, that computer

said just that. Interlocke then made a gesture

towards the small, still-speaching computer

screen in the car. Only the driver could

access it, thought.

After a short time "Wait a second, you say you once felt like these dinosaurs?  How?" Arashikage asked curiously

"Slippy, heed carefuully..." Norman paused and resumed whispering "There may be hope here that we can find some guns or knifes here in case a dino is about to eat us..."

"Yeah.  If they have an arcade, they must have an armory, and sixty credits says it's underground."

"well the problem is Slip, it could be possible that only the staff could enter the armory....talk about bad service. I don't even know if they care about us...especially Hammond." Norman said, grinning for his revenge on Hammond once Norman came back...if he did...

(maybe to save some posts DRL now that we're on the island. Could we perhaps delete our posts of our characters at the airport? Probably not a good idea...)

(I do not know if Julius would

like that... Technically it would

be cheating the post limit, so

no, at least not now.

Also: Feel free to chat using this

page. Once we reach Pag. 55,

we stop, okay?)

After a short time "Wait a second, you say you once felt like these dinosaurs?  How?" Arashikage asked curiously

"Yes... It is a long story.

I will tell it all to you when

we are at the restaurant,

okay?" She replied back.

(Okay)

"Alright then" Arashikage said as he looked out the window at the other dinosaurs that were in the park

"Wow, the dinos are cool!" Azul commented, watching the dinos from top of one of the cars. (They're tall to enter the car, and have jet parts)

"Yeah, at least they won't mistake us for food", Thunder joked from a top of another car.

"Now I see why Scott Didn't want to come..." Sarah Muttered, A Little Shocked of the T-Rex's massive size. "You'd probably have to have an Anti-tank Rife to make that thing even flinch..."

The convoy slowly drove onwards, the only sounds coming from the gravel being crunched under tires, and the enthusiastic conversations of the passengers. As the front car rounded a corner, a massive fence could be seen passing trough the vegetation, and just in the path was two heavy gates built to form a locking system. The first opening and letting all three cars drive into a massive cage, closing behind them before the second gate opened and enabled them to continue.

Morgan grabbed his microphone and tuned into the frequency of the three cars. "We have now entered one of the largest enclosures on the island. But don't worry. This is only for herbivores, and it's perfectly safe." He hung up, thinking about the lie he had just told. Truth was, when startled, even the most docile herbivore could turn into a rampaging bulldozer. He'd have to make sure not to get to close to them.

They drove off from the gravel path and started to make their way up a grass clad slope. Twisting a few knobs to divert the power to the wheels with the most traction, Morgan managed to make his way up to the top without any unnecessary wheelspin. As soon as they reached the crest, a spectacular view greeted them.

The hill sloped gently down again into a massive grass plain, with a large lake in the middle and a river running trough it. Tropical forests surrounding the entire plain.

But the nature itself wasn't the most spectacular about the view. The herds of dinosaurs where.

Countless Hadrosaurs, like Parasaurolophus and Corythosaurs drank from the water and graced on the countless bushes and trees. Grass hadn't developed til after the dinosaurs extinction, so they weren't really fit to eat that. Dozens of tiny Dryosaurs darted past the large creatures, skillfully evading being trampled by massive feet. And towering above all the rest, where three true giants of the past. With each step sounding like distant thunder, the Brachiosaurs made their way towards the lake to drink. Their heads towering far above the canopy of even the largest trees. Their calls as deep as whale song.

The group stepped out of their cars to get a better view. Morgan could formally see how Hammond shone with pride as the guests walked up to him, shook his hand and congratulated him on his achievement. Morgan on the other hand, where busy keeping a watch for dinosaurs coming closer to them.

It was then something caught his eye. Walking up to a grassfree spot and bending down, he brushed the leaves away and took a closer look at the footprint. It was obviously from a small dinosaur, but its shape baffled him. It was like two small lines, two toes having touched the ground, and the third being held up into the air as the creature had walked. Something was wrong. Terribly wrong.

"What dinosaur is that footprint from?" It came from behind him. Morgan stood and turned around to face Slippy, the toad. Morgan sent him a warm smile. "Just a Dryosaur, like the ones you can see playing over there." He lied. This was something he had to check with security later on. No reason to cause any worries now.

"Let's get going again. There will be another tour inside the visitor centre, the same the normal tourists will go trough when we open up. If we're going to catch that before it's getting late, we'll have to hurry up."

Once again securely inside the cars, they drove out of the enclosure the same way they had come in, and turned onto the asphalt of the main road, leading from the harbor to the visitor centre.

"Well, if you're so worried about 'em, Tala, don't get on their nerves." Ris suggested with a grin.  "Don't get 'em mad and they shouldn't have any reason to charge, right?"

'Holy sh*t...how many dinosaurs does Hammond have?' Norman wondered, facing Slippy...

Norman whispered to Slippy "Ok Slip, somehow we need to get inside the armory. There is a lot of dinosaurs we're facing..."

(Someones got to keep things moving.)

'Holy sh*t...how many dinosaurs does Hammond have?' Norman wondered, facing Slippy...

Catching the worried question over the speaker system, Morgan once again grabbed the microphone and tuned it in. "The exact number currently evades me, as we have an automated detection system counting them all for us. But last time I checked, I think we had passed 200 animals in total, and we're steadily growing."

He hung up again and concentrated on the road again, just hearing someone whisper over the speaker system: "Did he just say over 9000!?!", only to be silenced by several others laughing.

The footprint still bothered him, and he decided that as soon as he had dropped off the guests and Hammon by the visitor centre, where they would get the explanation to how they had managed such a feat as making this park. He wasn't needed for that part. It was Hammond who was the showman. He could win over peoples hearts in seconds, and squeeze money out of a rock. He had been ideal for actually building the financial backbone to make the park around, but even he could convince enough people to lend money without actually having something to show. That's why this tour was so crucial. The whole park depended on it being a success. His future depended on it, and he wasn't going to let that be jeopardized.

Meanwhile, several hundred miles southeast of the island, the warm winds coming from the mainland meet the freezing winds of the storm which had just passed over the island. Together, the countless variables caused the storm to grow in size and strength into a tropical hurricane, and incredibly slowly, it started to turn around and blow back towards the island.

Morgan was surprised to hear how the guests talked about how they wanted weapons on the trip. Weren't these supposed to be civilian?

Once again, he grabbed the microphone and talked into it. "While I can understand your concern in the face of something as extraordinary as we have created here, our weapons are securely locked down, and will remain that way unless a crisis arises. Heh, I don't think you would bring weapons to the local town zoo either?"

He hung up again, catching a glimpse of something large and white trough the vegetation as they drove trough a series of turns up a steep hill, almost a small mountain.

As they finally reached the plateau on top, the source of the sight, the enormous visitor centre in white marble sparkled in the sunlight of the falling sun.

"This is where the real tour starts. The centre, where you'll be explained and shown how we have managed to create such wonders as you earlier today have seen.

It's quite big, and it'll probably take the rest of the evening. As soon as the tour ends, you'll be treated to a delicious meal by our excellent chiefs before you will be shown to your quarters. At 10 AM tomorrow, after breakfast, you'll be given a tour around the closest pens on foot and a thorough demonstration of our security systems which make this island, it's inhabitants, visitors, and your clients investments as safe as can be.

And to round of the day, you'll take the full vehicle tour around all the enclosures."

The cars slowed down to a halt in front of the large marble stair leading up to the impressive main gate into the centre.

"'Remain locked that way until crisis arises'? What if it's an emergency and very urgent? Would we have enough time to gather weps?", Azul said, disappointed at what Morgan said.

"You never know, dinosaurs are from nature. They can be unpredictable and can get extremely dangerous", Thunder said, agreeing to Azul. (and technically stating something obvious  )
