Mr. Fox13
Regarding the first pic: DNA modification FAIL. And photoshop WIN.Regarding the second and third: This is what I see actual anthros as, a definite %70-%30 mix of animal and human, (Corresponding order), and great find, Mr. Krystal! Saving to my Ipod... I strongly disagree with the proportions issue. The real issue would be holding the human brain and changing the spinal attachment to be vertical, rather than the horizontal of all animals besides primates. You would most likely have a human-like skull with a muzzle. The ears of most anthros attach closer to where human ears are, and thus would not cause an issue. Otherwise you would just move the holes in the skull to where you needed them. Here's a rough illustration:IDK.....I think instead of having a plastic surgery type operation, we should go with Genetics. True, I'll admit this theory is....well a little out there, BUT we've already done stuff like for example: glow-in-the-dark fish and genetically modified plants. It's really only a matter of time, IMO until they start working with humans. Who knows, maybe a couple years from now, you can go down to your local geneticist and get turned into a full-blown anthro! :D

Even despite my furry-dom, I would still rather keep my human form, because, even though we are human, are we not animals? We're just the most intelligent species, and thus rule over the others. So why turn yourself into a cross-breed when you can be a pure-bred human animal?Besides, can you imagine the extreme pain that would come with the modification? Your face would literally rearrange itself while you watch! I can't even begin to imagine how much it would hurt...

LoneWolf
Ugh...I absolutely hate BP, they just created the biggest man made disaster for the past few years. And it would have only cost around $5,000 for a remote shut off button IMBECILES! ALL OF THEM!

Yeah, I wouldn't mind the pain either, and I hope our species hasn't wiped themselves out in the next 50 years Don't get me started on the oil spills, first Exxon-Valdez gets off free, do a shitty clean up job, and still make over 48 million dollars a year. BP's probably just the f*cking same.

I wouldn't be surprised if that's how this plays out. I don't know what it's like were you live, but were I'm at, people got all these dang oil wells and they've just ruined the land here. They get salt water out of the wells and store it in tanks; but if they ever spill it....it just totally ruins that spot, nothing will grow there. Plus when the wind gets really strong, it picks up the salt; and if that gets in your eyes...let's just say you better have a bottle of water with you. Asper Sarnoff
The recent issues about what happened in the gulf of Mexico isn't really what this thread is about. For the matter, it had been closed last time I checked. By a Norwegian company actually. Leave it to us to clean up when the rest of the world messes up. Have you seen BP's share price recently? It's down AT LEAST 40% since the disaster and they are even selling off a lot of their equipment to get the funds needed to pay bills otherwise they'll go bankrupt. They are owing more then 10 billion dollars already and the final tally will not be pretty - not to mention a slew of criminal charges more then likely, now THAT kills investor confidence. I assure you that what happened with that Exxon disaster in Alaska WON'T happen with BP.Anyways, back on topic peeps. LoneWolf
Well, I regretfully have to say that the concept of human-anthro surgery would be IMPOSSIBLE. Physics deny the possibility of it, and don't even start me on the ethical/moral issues But as once said by a video game character (FF Crisis Core) "The best dreams are the unattainable ones"Now, this doesn't affect my furry-dom at all. I'm still an avid furry, and will be for the foreseeable future. Anthros are fictional characters, but that doesn't mean that we can't like them.I'm perfectly happy with my human body, and would not trade it for anything else. God created us in his image, and thus the human animal is a beautiful creature.Sorry for any crushed dreams
Mr. Krystal
Even though we are human, are we not animals?I would argue no. We appear to have non-material parts, unlike animals. The human mind is the most complicated, measurable thing in the universe by far, and there is some doubt as to its existence purely in the physical plane.YES! THOSE ASSHOLES ARE GONNA PAY!Because making a company go bankrupt over something that might yet not even be their fault will make the oil go away? The world is far too interested in "getting even" lately, even though they don't realize they're harming themselves in the process.Don't get me started on the oil spills, first Exxon-Valdez gets off free, do a shitty clean up job, and still make over 48 million dollars a year. BP's probably just the f*cking same. I have my doubts about the current estimates of the size of this oil spill. However, the Ixtoc I, back in the late 70's, spilled almost as much as BP's well (perhaps more once we know the exact numbers on the Deepwater Horizon). How much money did they pay the state of Texas for the cost of cleanup efforts? $0. They were a state-run oil company from Mexico and invoked sovereign immunity. Also, the Exxon-Valdez oil spill isn't even on the list of large oil spills. Get some perspective people. Environmental disasters are ALWAYS blown out of proportion. On topic, I am planning to do some surgeries in the far future, but not for cosmetics such as these. I would get cybernetic enhancements. Pain is nothing.

LoneWolf
From googleAnimal:a living organism characterized by voluntary movementBy that, then yes, we are. Some animals survive by being big, or dangerous, we survive by being smart and social. My point exactly. We, as humans, have a lot of things in common with animals, we have the same vital organs, we all have at least some fur (Hair is just a different type of fur), and we all have a set lifespan. Weather or not there is something extra-dimensional with us is up to you, but as a christian I believe so. We could not have evolved, the possibility is about as good as painting one atom in the universe red, then throwing them all in a blender and somehow randomly picking the red one out. Too many zeroes to write. But, this topic isn't about evolution, it's about furry-dom and what not. So, as a furry, I say that, the reason we should continue to be furries, and not turned away from furry-dom because of the previous picture is that, because we are human, we just like to pretend! We can use our imaginations, we do it every day! I, personally, am happy with the body God gave me, and would rather not be an anthro, maybe, as Mr. Krystal said, some cybernetics, (Deus ex, anyone?) but no complete transformation surgery.Regardless, anthros FTWÂ It's not that I dislike the concept of being one, it's just that I would feel that I was defying God if I turned myself into an anthro, or really, got any plastic surgery whatsoever. Besides, I'm a guy, so I don't really care about how I look, just that I meet the parameters of average.

We could not have evolved, the possibility is about as good as painting one atom in the universe red, then throwing them all in a blender and somehow randomly picking the red one out. Too many zeroes to write. The problem there is that probability doesn't work backwards like that.Perfect example. Let's say you shuffle a pack of cards and take 1. Whatever it is, let's say 3 of clubs, then there was a 1 in 64 chance of getting that card. Statisticly, if you work backwards, odds are you should have gotten any other card, but you didn't, you got 3 of clubs. You can do this again and again. The card you draw is the card you draw. However, whenever you work backwards, probability says you shouldn't have got that card.Another example, the lottery. Every week the numbers come out with a 1 in 14 million chance of those being the numbers, but those are the numbers that came out. It was just as likely 1,2,3,4,5,6,7 came out, but if you do it backwards, it appears impossable.I want to go off on a tangent of the law of big numbers, but it's not relivent.
