What can scare/alarm you?

Call me a wuss, but those 'thunderstorm' television alarms can spook me when I least expect it with the high pitch 'BAAAAAAAWP' and the voice is kind of annoying but yet...nerve cooling at the same time. IMO.

Anybody that tries to scare the crap out of me when I am not paying attention.

^THIS! Also, last night, at about 5AM, I happened to open my bedroom door to head to the bathroom.Ā  When I opened the door, my dog is sitting there, it scared the hell out of me! :D

Another one is when I'm in some old abandoned place and if I open a door I have no idea what's behind it. A dead body? A gruesome killer? Britney Spears? The world's first zombie!Ā  O_o

When I'm blasting my music, and my Brother-in-law sneaks up on me and pokes me in the back of the neck. I literally don't see or hear it coming.

Come to think of it, anyone touching you in the back of the neck or something when not expecting it would scare the living daylights outta me! :D

I just don't like people anywhere near my neck. Too many dreams about being choked/strangled to lifelessness...Ā  :|

When I was little kid, the FBI warnings before or after videos used to scare/alarm the hell out of me. It doesn't anymore, but to this day I could not tell you why it used to scare me so much...

Nowadays, I just don't like loud pops or bangs- my ears are sensitive to them so it bothers me/makes me jumpy.

  • 2 weeks later...

A psychopath with a shotgun. Or chainsaw. Or pistol. Or knife. Or ballpoint pen. Heck, he could have a piece of tissue paper and he would still be scary

Me reading Stephen Kings. I don't know why, but if a rather frightening sound is described in the book, it happens in real life. When I was reading Christine, he talked about her tires peeling out, and some idiot peeled his tires out RIGHT outside my house not two seconds after I read that line. And another time, he mentioned an unearthly howl or something along those lines, and a cat started doing that deep, belly "mrrrrooowwwwllll" that makes em sound like they're dying, RIGHT outside my window.

I'm alarmed by "unexpected" sounds when asleep. I can forexample manage to sleep trough a raging storm, but if I hear someone walking into my room, I wake up at once.
