Hovercars

If hovercars don't have wheels, what will they need? I'm thinking maybe instead of wheels on a hovercar they would have to use 4 some sort of anti-gravity or magnetic levitation devices (bikes and motorcycles would need 2). Who here has any thoughts on this?

They would use four, big fans to keep them levitated while the fans are plugged up to four big Energizer trucks.

Here's what I think would work.  They put magnets in all roads at close intervals, and the same magnets on the car, with the same polarity.  That way, the road magnets would repel the car magnets, keeping the car upright.  Then all ya gotta do is throw in a jet engine or something and off you go! :D

Some kind of retro rocket-esque device?

Some kind of retro rocket-esque device?

That works, have another jet propulsion engine in the front, counteracting the force of the other, to stop.  Although that could lead to some ugly car designs :D

Are there magnets that repel themselves from Earth's gravitational pull?

Imagine putting all those magnets in the Earth does something catastrophic, like throw it off of it's axis

I'm not sure if there are magnets like that though :D

I love your Signature!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks for the compliment :D.  And THERE BETTER BE A BIG SHINY STOP BUTTON!

Has anyone (like NASA) been experimenting with anti-gravity or gravity manipulation?

I'm not as in to SF as I used to be. The same way "User" described him being an Ex-Krystal fan.
