Look at this list:

As an American, I'm disgusted to learn that we Americans get NO mandatory paid vacation days, yet China gives their people 11 paid vacation days.

What war did we lose for this to happen? (rhetorical question)

I don't get it...why don't Americans get this stuff...didn't we have it at one time?

Singapore is a totalitarian dictatorship Despotic Monarchy, and they give out 7 days minimum paid vacation, and 14 days for higher ranking employees...

Correction: Singapore is a

'Despotic Monarchy' - The powers

of a Totalitarian Dictatorship with

the rules of a Monarchy.

Yeah, paid & minimun vacation is a right here

in South America. Here in Argentina, to be precise,

workers have up to 14 days of vacation, which they

may take at any moment they feel right. These days

are not 'cumulative' (you can not have 28 days just

because you did not take them the last year), however

taking them does not forbids you from archieving the

'perfect presentism prize' that gives you a little income boost.

Furthermore, more days can be gained by working

extra time or exelling at the job (along with the

'extra pay' that dong any of these mean)

I am in favor of the workers/people on this.

It's not all roses and buttercups. If a place doesn't want to give you holidays, they find some way to fiddle the books or simply fire you when you demand holidays.

I believe there used to be a lot more perks in general that employers gave willingly - they were never mandated to do so by law. Then employers started turning into douchebags. And because politicians are bought out by big corporations or they otherwise have sharp views against meddling with businesses, the law never attempted to close that gap.

Not all of them - just the ones that like to get the government to enforce special advantages for them.

In Canada, as the Wikipedia entry says.  It's 10-15 days depending on the province, however it can be up to 6 weeks depending on position and seniority within a company.  Also, for part time workers (at least in Ontario) who don't get full time vacation benefits vacation pay is 4% of gross annual pay.  Also, 10 paid stat holidays for me (in Ontario)
