This is something I started putting serious thought into yesterday, so I wanna hear other people's voices on the idea of comic books with plastic spirals (if you don't know what I mean, see http://www.greatgreengoods.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/12/books.jpg) before I make up my own mind on such an idea.

I would say no. 2 reasons. 1 is spirals tend to get crushed, warped ect, making it tough to turn pages. My main issue with spirals is turning pages has to be very deliberate so not to damage the book, pulling out of the story it's moving fast. If you are doing a series of stand alones like garfield or dinosaur comics, I dont see the problem.

What about a monthly, 26 page comic?

It's harder to make book with spirals, right?

I don't know any places where I live that publish comics in trade paper back. :(

Well my mother and I (I'm 19 but still live at home for now) just looked into a local publisher called Shield to see if they would be willing to print the comic.

Agreed.  Plus, you can't label the spines for quick/easy viewing in the bookshelf, you have to pull out and examine the front cover of each book to find which one you want to read.

But monthly comics are usually displayed so that we see the front cover.

...even so...no.

Spirals snag, too.  I don't care for that.

Yeah, I had problems with that when it comes to notebooks.
