"I assume in private", Zeke said as he limped out of earshot, realizing that one of those punches caused some pain.

Gearhart looked up. "Okay. What is it?" He asked, even though he already knew what the topic of choice was going to be.

Losing all hostility from their previous encounters arashikage said "what happened?  We used to be friends, I thought we were going to be there for each other, none of this time bullsh*t, I want to know what reall happened" as he checked the bandage on his right hand to make sure it was tight

"Ehh, I don't think anyone would mind", Zeke thought as he re-entered the ice cream shop from earlier.

All these people calling me "Friend" is weird, I'm not used to it... He thought while sitting on the bench. Gearhart was thinking of how he wanted to say this, without opening himself. "I have no proper good reason for why I acted as I did. It is true. Patrick wanted to help, I assured him to keep pressing on, and that we should spend no time on you. I am deeply sorry for how I acted, and what it put you through." Gearhart said, hoping that would be enough of an explanation for Arashikage.

Zeke was comfortably enjoying himself in the cold air of the ice cream parlor.  The desserts also helped the carefree atmosphere.  "I wish my like was an ice cream parlor, no one can be angry inside of one...unless they get their order wrong", he thought, chuckling to himself.  He decided to try out the Rocky Road mixed with Cookies n' Cream this time around.

"It just baffles me how someone would be so heartless as to leave a fallen comrade to die burning at the bottom of a pit.  And on top of that, you never even cared enough to come back for me, I was found by an elevator repairman.  That really hurt me, Gearhart, to have a friend abandon me like garbage on the side of interstate 95." Arashikage said in a pained tone

Meanwhile in the parlor, Zeke was enjoying his new-found hobby, eating ice cream.  He enjoyed all the different flavor opportunities, which doubled when you mixed two together.  He especially enjoyed soft-serve, or the regular kind with chocolate syrup.

(Haha, breaking up the tension :D)

Well, I fell unconscious myself and don't even remember who dragged me to the hospital. He thought. No, now is not the time for excuses. "I know. I can't explain how bad I feel because of it. I wasn't myself, but I am not trying to make excuses. I did my actions, and have to account to them." He said, not sure of what he could say to make Arashikage feel better.

That gooey chocolate syrup splashing down on the beautiful frozen treat.  That first spoonful was enough for anyone to reach their comfort zone.  Zeke was thoroughly enjoying himself, and was pretty sure that things were going fine between Arashikage and Gearhart.

"Well my scars will never heal, and I will not forget this, but I hate to see us like this" Arashikage said

By the time Zeke was done, he had finished six quarts of different ice creams, and a gallon of chocolate syrup.  None of that showed, however, as he paid, and sprinted out, back toward the boxing arena.

"As do I." He said. Well, the scars I couldn't have helped about too much either... He thought while standing up again.

As Zeke entered the arena, he saw that the two hadn't killed each other yet.  "That's a good sign", he thought as he approached them.  "Guys, before you make your decision, WHO WANTS ICE CREAM!?!", Zeke yelled as he produced two hidden containers of the frozen treat, complete with a brownie on top.

"The main reason for my treating you coldly was because I thought you hated me and that was why you were acting that way before and during the explosion" Arashikage said and quickly added "did you really hate me?"

As Zeke continued watching, he began to think of how good that brownie would taste.  "Um here, you guys hold your ice cream, and I'll be at the bakery if you need me", Zeke said as he handed the jugs of ice cream to Gearhart and Arashikage, and takes off down the hallway.

"No." Gearhart said. "The way I acted was in no way because of you, or anyone in this hotel. I do not hate you." He added while setting his ice cream on the bench. God, Zeke. Ice cream isn't always the answer.

Arashikage is now staring baffled at the ice cream that seemingly just appeared in his hands(he didn't notice Zeke, he's concentrating that hard to make sense of what went on) "You still never explained to me what was going on, if it wasn't me, what happened?" Arashikage asked (Yays my laptop is back)

Zeke finally returns with a paper bag full of different cookies, brownies, and pastries.  "I brought these for our friendship celebration!", Zeke said as he slowly snuck a cookie out of the bag and popped it into his mouth, while his tail wagged happily.

Arashikage doesn't know what is more baffling, the fact that Zeke knew what was going on or the fact that Zeke left for 2 minutes to return with a full bag of cookies and various assorted baked goods

Gearhart closed his eyes. "When Patrick and I finally got to the eighth floor, and the explosion went off... Patrick looked back and asked me, 'Could we at least say some final words?' " Gearhart paused, not sure if he wanted to continue, but did anyway, "I portrayed a trait of someone I hate, and said words I never want to have to say ever again." Gearhart couldn't bring it to himself to say his exact words that he did that night.

"Guys, don't beat yourself up over it, who wants a cookie?", Zeke said in a comforting manner.  "I've also got milk!", he added as he pulled a gallon of it from that same paper bag.

(Did anyone notice the topic of my last post?)

"Who is this person" Arashikage asked "Zeke, is this really the place for cookies and milk?"

(I kinda want to know too, I can't be arsed to read another story, my mom reads for a living and my friend is an author, so I get to read a lot of them)
