Holy crapola of topic dredges....sorry for this long wait guys....finally forced myself to get my ideas back onto the key board....and without further adu

Chapter six

Sonic and the gang began to slowly creep up to the nearest cliff to the island of Dr. Zordian. “So, how are we all going to get over there?” Amy would ask. Sonic would chuckle, “We use Chaos Control of course, we have two Chaos Emeralds after all....” he explained. Rouge would pull Sonic back, “So do you think it was a good idea to leave the little girl with such a big job?” she would ask, referring to Melody. Sonic would smile, “I am sure she will do just fine...”

Cream would suddenly begin to make noises of irritation as little Palmer began to wiggle himself free from her arms, Cheese holding onto his tail as the little guy walked, and begin to walk close to the cliff, to peer down towards the island. “You hear them......don’t you?” Tails would ask, making sure that was the case. Palmer would slowly nod his head, “Yes....I hear them Mr. Tails.....” he would respond, his tone more monotone then his usual cheerful voice.

Shadow noticed this and strangely he pet the pup, “You are brave, don’t worry...” he would reassure the pup. Tails would look at Sonic, “What if Knuckles, Rouge, Cream, and I just fly over to the island....while you, Shadow and Amy use the Chaos Emeralds, to conserve energy...” he suggested. Sonic would nod as Amy and Shadow grew closer. Sonic would hand Shadow a Chaos Emerald, both of them soon raising them. Amy would grab hold both of their free arms. “CHAOS.......CONTROL!!!” they both yelled, and with a flash they vanished.

Tails would pick Palmer up and being to spin his two tails, Cream would flap her ears, Cheese grabbing onto his best friend, Rouge, spreading her wings, grabbed hold of the silent Shade,  and Knuckles would take a charge towards the cliffs edge at to glide faster to the island. Soon the group would be heading towards the island.

A flash could be seen on the ground of the island as Sonic, Shadow, and Amy appeared from Chaos Control. The three quickly took a fighting stance, but noticed, nothing was around them. Shadow looked around confused, “Something is not right...” he exclaimed. Amy turned to him, still holding her Piku-Piku hammer up, “What do you mean, Shadow?”. “The last time I was on this island, it was crawling with Zodian robots....” he explained.

Sonic chuckled, “Maybe he heard us coming and decided to leave before we pounded him.” Shadow rolled his eyes and began to walk forward, not waiting for the others. Tails and group finally landed near Sonic. Sonic looked to Rouge and Shade, “You guys and Shadow have been monitoring this place for awhile, so you can lead the way.” Shade looked down, “Shadow would be the only one to know the way, at least half way inside, as I was captured back on the cliff...” she stated turning her head. Rouge, seeing her friend worried, placed her hand onto Shade’s shoulder.

Shadow turned back to the group, “Will you come on?” he whispered. The group soon followed as Shadow continuously checked all corners of the area, “Why does this feel like a trap?” he asked aloud as the got deeper and deeper inside. They finally reached a long hallway, the walls painted perfectly white. Sonic took a step forward, he let out a yelp of pain as volts of electricity went through his body.

“We were foolish to think this was going to be easy....” Rouge chuckled, “Ah shut up, Rouge...” Sonic said catching his breath.

“Ah, I see the party guests have finally arrived...” came a voice from what seemed to be all around them. “Dr. Zordian?” Knuckles asked to the others. “Of course it is my dear echnida friend...” he said again. “Oh and my dear Shadow, you were right....” Suddenly the doors behind them slammed shut as the walls on both sides began to close in on them, “It was a trap....good bye pests...”

Seeing that they did not have much time, Tails quickly began to search for the control panel to the door as Knuckles began to pound at the wall, trying to create a hole to buy them some time. Shadow and Shade began to do the same. Cheese bravely tried to push against the wall as if he was strong enough to do so.

Tails kept tinkering away with Amy and Cream behind him trying to get him to move faster. Sonic sped to the other end of the long hallway, trying to see if there was an open exit at the end. He stopped midway when he heard Tails behind him, “I got it!” he yelled as the door now opened on command.

Moments later the group was out of the hallway as they heard the walls crash against each other. Shadow shook his head, “Should have seen that coming..” Sonic walked up next to him, “He is no Eggman that is for sure...” he stated as he turned to get the group to hurry up to keep walking.

As they walked, Cheese began to spin around giving a cry. This got Cream to fall behind, “What is the matter, Cheese?” she asked him. They began to talk and Cream widened her eyes, perking her ears, “Cheese hears something coming....” she exclaimed. Soon enough a large robot could be seen coming around a corner, fully armed with several guns.

Sonic and Shadow soon took charge, leaving the rest behind. The machine began to fire, carelessly aiming into the open to randomly hit anything in the path of the bullets. Sonic stopped for a moment and turned back, “You guys get out of here until we take care of this!” he yelled and went back to speeding towards the machine.

Tails, nodding his head, took lead as the group ran back into the opposite direction. As they ran, another robot of the same design came into their sites. “What are we gonna do?” Amy asked frantically. Knuckles stepped forward, “This is starting to piss me off!” he yelled, soon having Shade stand next to him, “I could not agree more...”

Shade turned back to Rouge and nodded. Rouge grabbed onto the two girls hands and began to run, Tails taking hold of Palmer and beginning to fly. As they fled, they heard the random firing coming from both area, and soon, several explosions. A sudden dust flurry filled the hallway, and the only silhouettes that could be seen were two hedgehogs and two Echidnas.

Tails let out a sigh of relief as he landed, putting Palmer down. Sonic and the rest of the victors walked up with smug looks on their faces, “No mad scientist yet has been able to stop us...” he chuckled. He went silent as he notice Palmer digging at the ground, and the walls. “What is it buddy?” he kneeled down to ask.

“I hear....another one...nearby..” he admitted as he did not even look at Sonic long enough to say it. Sonic nodded then looked at Tails, “Why don’t you, Amy, and Cream go to find the Chaos Emerald he hears...While the rest of us head to the main chamber of this place.” he explained. Tails nodded and looked to the two girls, who also nodded. Amy took a quick hold of Sonic, “Be Careful....” she said. Sonic blushing would laugh and agree to the same.

Cream picked Palmer up and smiled down at him, “Ok, you lead the way little one...” she chuckled. The two groups soon slit up, leaving Sonic’s group with the task of finding the control room.

They began to head back towards where the now mangled robots were laying. “My guess is we are getting close if he is taking these kind of desperate measures to stop us..” Rouge said coyly. The rest agreed and soon made a decision. Walking over several of the broken pieces they found themselves in front of a large door.

“I bet you anything this is where the control room is..” Sonic smirked.

Meanwhile, Tails and group kept following the directions Palmer tried to give to the best of his hearing. He finally lowered his ears and forced himself from Cream’s arms. At that moment, a smaller robot, but a near replica of the other two appeared.

Fearing for the safety of his teammates Tails yelled out, “Let’s get out of here!” They quickly took to the idea as the robot gave chase. It became relentless in its pursuit, even though it quickly fell behind. Palmer stopped at what appeared to be an air vent, causing Tails to worry.

He ran back and tried to pick the little guy up, but Palmer forced himself back to the ground. “Go to Mr. Sonic, I can find the Shiny Rock easier through here...” he said as he began to pull open the vent, which was just big enough for him to duck into. Tails tried grabbing onto Palmer’s tail, but it slipped out of his hands.

Having a sudden decision to make, he shook his head, there was no way to help the wolf at this point and headed back to the girls. Amy grabbed hold of his neck fur, “YOU JUST LEFT HIM?!” she yelled. “There was nothing I could do, Amy...” he tried explaining.

Having no other choice, they began to make their way to the others. Soon finding them trying to pound their way into through the door. “Where’s Palmer?” Sonic asked as he seen Tails come up. Tails explained what happened, and soon took to working on the control panel like before.

The door soon opened just enough for Knuckles to push it the rest of the way open. They peered inside to a darkened room, sending a few chills down the spines of Shadow and Shade. Sonic, suddenly fearing nothing stepped inside, followed by the others. Once inside the door shut behind them, leaving them in the darkness.

“Well, it is great that you can join me...” came the voice of Dr. Zordian as the room quickly lite up. The group had to cover their eyes for a moment, but soon seen their new rival standing on a tall wall away from them. Sonic put himself into a spin dash and began to head up to him. Suddenly another charge went through his body, “Honestly, don’t you think I have not thought of your tactics?” the Doctor would ask him as he fell.

“I bet you wonder why I am doing this, building this base, and acting like that buffoon, Eggman?” he asked. “The thought kind of crossed my mind...” Sonic stated as he slowly rose up.

“Since you are about to die I might as well feel free to explain...” as he made that statement the floor began to separate, “Oh.....did I forget to mention that this base is built inside a volcano?” he asked while laughing.

A lava rock soon shot to the ceiling, stopping around the same area Sonic was forced back, revealing a force shield of some kind going from wall to wall. “Now that I have your attention...” he started

“Several months ago I was contacted by an elite force, one that this world has never known. They offered me power for my services on getting them back to their home dimension.” he turned his head, surveying the situation the team was in. Pushing a button on his consol to open the gap between the floors.

Sonic and Shadow soon reached for the Emeralds they had, and as soon as they held them up, volt of electricity surged through them. “Again, not so simple, this room can detect the power of the Chaos Emeralds, sending a jolt of electricity to anyone holding them and trying to use them.” Sonic and Shadow kneeled down, dropping both of their Emeralds.

“Now where was I?” he said, hitting a button again to stop the floors, “Oh yes, the Elite..” he continued, “They stated to me, that by building the four towers, the same four just like the one Eggman built and you destroyed months ago, that I would be unlocking unimaginable power.”

He began to laugh, “And now that all four towers are built all over the world, and Emerald soon to go to each, will unlock this power and grant me the power to rule over this world!” his laughing continuing, Sonic and gang having to be forced to listen to this all.

Sonic gave a surprised gasp as the floor began to go back together, “What?! What is this malfunction?” Dr. Zordian yelled.

“Is that what we said?” came a voice from behind him.

“I don’t think so...I know we told him that he would be unlocking ultimate power....”

“But not that it would be his...”

“Such silly things these humans are.....”

Dr. Zordian turned around and pressed his back against the control panel, accidently hitting the button to lower the shield, “Mexil......what is the meaning of this?” he asked the one that looked like Sonic.

“You see Doctor.......since the completion of the Spires, there is.....”

“No longer any use of you!” Ais, the fox looked alike, finished.

“Mexil, may I please do the honors?” Viz, the female Echidna asked.

“Why not let her, She was the one who got a body first...” Cateo, another hedgehog form stated.

“Go ahead, Viz...” Mexil stated.

With that, the one known as Viz raised her hand, beginning to form a energy ball made from shadow in her palm. The ball soon charged for Dr. Zordian, pushing him over the edge, and since the floor was not fully together, he fell helplessly into the lava, his screams being slowly smothered as the floor finally became whole.

Sonic stood up, ready to fight as the rest did. The four shadow like figures came to the edge. “So guys, what shall we do with these pests?” Mexil asked the rest. “Well.....Since the floor is together, lets send them on an adventure..” Viz chuckled. Cateo shook his head, “I say we kill them now rather then later....” “But I like Viz’s plan the best...” Ais stated.

The gang waited as Sonic and Shadow soon picked up their Emeralds and began to give their commands. The four up top soon countered this holding out four of the Chaos Emeralds and making their own command.

A white light soon formed over our heros, as in an instant, they vanished into thin air.

“Well, that takes care of tha....” Mexil turned as he heard something rustling

“Looks like....we have a new pet....” Ais stated, heading towards an air vent.

Suspense...

Anywho, great work as always, now for my thoughts:

I don't think there was a necessary reason for you to explain how they all flew.

Sonic letting Tails, Amy, and Cream to go with Palmer searching for Chaos Emeralds? Well, he does seem dumber now that he has his new voice.

James Rolfe's Worst Cliche #1: Stupid Villians. Dr. Zordian will not be missed.

I wonder where Sonic and his friends will turn up? Maybe in a retarded world where there are mentally ill brown dog things flying around and werehogs crawling around?

Anyways, I do hope to see more soon.
