Sabre
There is this trend, apparently known as pig latin, american do to pass ;coded' information to each other. The problem is it's so bloody obvious. All you are doing is moving the first letter to the end of the first word and add "ay" at the end.tarfox-say = starfoxand add "ay" at the full stop.I like starfox-ayWe don't use the concept here, but it's so easy to figure out any culture that does use it would be fluent enough to render it completly usless I'd imagine. Sarita
I just think it's one of those "why the heck not?" kinds of things. Everyone knows what it means, but you still have to decode it in your head when someone speaks it to understand what they meant.I have a game where a minor plot point is "The Curse of Pig Latin." It's a hilarious game.
Asper Sarnoff
We actually have something similar in Norway(and Sweden.). The Røverspråket (Robber's language), where every consonant (as spelled) is doubled, and an o is inserted in-between. Think it originated from a kids book, don't know, never used it. But I do know that when spoken among people who know it well, it's very hard to follow for someone outside the clique.
SPEAKERnight.
I used to LOVE sending messages to my friends in pig latin when I was in elementary school. I wonder where the name pig latin came from though.
