Dragonos
Hey, I'm new here but I'm a game designer and a big fan of Star Fox.If there was a rail shooter similar to Star Fox on the Appstore/Droid Market would you buy it?It would feature Anthro Characters, Smooth Controls, Voice Acting (From the original voice actors of the Star Fox Series), Dog Fighting (Similar to All-Range Mode) and much more.Note: It's not a Fan Game and is a professional game being developed with a large budget to hire Programmers, Artists, Writers and more. Thanks,Dragonos

Dragonos
We have already considered this issue and it is not actually a concern. All of our staff agree on this and never before has a professional in the industry came up and told us that it would be a problem. We are not infringing on any intellectual property rights I can assure you.If we made a game featuring arwings, and the lylat system it would be a problem. However, creating a space shooter with cartoon animals is not copyright infringement. Our biggest competitor, Gameloft, has already created a FPS very similar to Halo called N.O.V.A. http://wireless.ign.com/articles/105/1056123p1.htmlGameloft did not receive any trouble from Microsoft or Bungie and we strongly believe that Nintendo will not bother us.Nintendo has even stated itself that it does not think the iPhone is a threat. If you have any more comments or concerns feel free to express them.Cheers,Dragonos
Guest DRL
Nintendo has even stated itself that it does not think the iPhone is a threat. If you have any more comments or concerns feel free to express them.Cheers,DragonosIf am right, Nintendo's CEO stated beforethat 'The real threat was the iPhone' or likethat some time ago. That led to the rumoursof a 'Nintedophone' appearing some time later. It looks like they were only rumours, but whatthe CEO said, the CEO said. Dragonos
If am right, Nintendo's CEO stated beforethat 'The real threat was the iPhone' or likethat some time ago. That led to the rumoursof a 'Nintedophone' appearing some time later. It looks like they were only rumours, but whatthe CEO said, the CEO said. That was falsified information. Here is what Reggie has to say about it and Apple.IG: I’ve asked you before about the iPhone and a zillion other people have as well. The one thing I find interesting is that there seems to be maybe a different viewpoint between you and Mr. Iwata because Mr. Iwata was quoted at one point as saying Apple is “the enemy of the future” and Nintendo was looking closely at Apple…Reggie: So let me interrupt you there…IG: Sure.Reggie: …because those were not attributed quotes. You know, we’ve gone back to the reporter and challenged them as to where they got this information, because they never talked to him.IG: Ok. That’s interesting. (Laughter)Reggie: These are reported quotes that never happened. The fact of the matter is, and Mr. Iwata and I are completely aligned on this, we compete for consumers’ time. And our challenge is to provide more compelling experiences for the consumer to invest their valuable time. And we look at it this way because every day the consumer has... every consumer has the same amount of time, and the time pressures are increasing for every consumer. To get one incremental minute of the consumer playing with the Nintendo 3DS or one incremental minute of the consumer playing with their Wii home console, that’s market share that matters, and looking at it from that way, we compete with a wide range of different companies. Not only the ones that you’ve mentioned, but we compete with magazines, we compete broadly with the internet, we compete with free games on the PC, we compete with a plethora of different experiences, and we have to be more compelling for the consumer to invest their time.IG: So do you have any reaction to the new iPhone 4? Apple’s business has obviously done very well and they’ve introduced, similar to the 3DS, six-axis motion. Obviously, they don’t have 3D on the iPhone. What’s your general reaction to sort of the surging iPhone business? Reggie: You know, the fact of the matter is in this entertainment business, multiple companies can be doing well at the same time and that’s because there are a lot of different consumers out there looking to invest their entertainment time. In the end, they’ll do what they’re going to do. And, in the end, we have to continue to innovate and bring great experiences to the consumer.Source: industrygamers.com
Guest Julius Quasar
No. It's not Star Fox that I'm not interested in, but rather the iPhone/iPad/Droid etc. that I'm not interested in. I don't got for trendy electronics. The iPod is one thing, but those other accessories, no thanks.

Guest DRL
First, you did not provide a validlink. I could not find the informationon the page. But that aside......It is just as vague information. This claims to be an interview. But howthe HYPER did they managed to interviewthe CEO, and nobody else did? Sure, I dobelieve the 'Nitendophone' and 'Vs. Applewar' are rumours. But that way of rejectingthem is just like countering a rumour withanother rumour.Furthermore, I have learned that the only'valid' interviews are ones which are recordedon video. Written interviews have a chanceto be false. It happened loads of times before.Sorry if I am sounding over-reacting or like that. For the account, I do not have either a iPhoneor 3DS. Guest DRL
Meh, iPod is an iPod.Thing is, I do not like portables at all.I do not want to buy a iPod just forbuying a Star Fox game. As much,I would try to emulate it and get thegame, but that way you would not makeany profits. And if it not a Star Fox game I would noteven get an emulator or the game. I amnot a 'casual gamer' after all.
Dragonos
Depends, If it is a remake of a Star Fox game, No I don't want it.Sorry I sould of clarified this earlier. No it is not a Remake. It simply features Animal Characters and similar Rail shooter Game play. The Story is not Star Fox and hopefully it will be somewhat refreshing to fans of Star Fox gameplay and also to the fans of Star Fox anthropomorphics. If the game sells well, it will come to the PC, PS3, Xbox and Wii in the form of Downloadable content. Guest DRL
So you're saying it's just a parady of Star Fox, only made by a different publisher?More like a clone. If it was a Star Fox game, it would never show up on the Xbox 360, PS3 or PC, because it is after all Nintendos property, they'll never give in their franchises to other companies, especially the companies that are rivals to them.He stated it was not a Star Fox game. However, 'downloadable' stuff I haveseen rarely, if ever, becomes too popular. Dragonos
More like a clone. He stated it was not a Star Fox game. However, 'downloadable' stuff I haveseen rarely, if ever, becomes too popular.Tell that to analytics. In just a few years, the iPhone/iPod/iPad have gained over one-fifth of the entire portable gaming industry. That means that for every 5 handheld games purchased one is from the Appstore. This it not a clone. It surly shares gameplay elements. As far as it being a clone Nintendo has slipped clones under its belt as well. (A quite familiar game actually.)Nintendo does not own the copyright to Scifi, Anthropomorphics, or Space Shooters. Because these are broad Ideas rather then intellectual property. Depending on howsimilar your game is, it *may*, (thatdoes not means 'will') be classified asa clone.

(PC's however are a very different story.) If you are talking about selling it on a CD for $50 it's a whole different dimension to the gaming industry. (It's like comparing TV Sitcoms to Blockbuster Movies)Yeah I will absolutely admit it will be similar to star fox. (Or I would not have made an account here ) Once I reach a state when I can post the character art and gameplay I'll be sure to let you in on it.Peace,Dragonos
