Titanic 2?!

I was having an IM chat with my cousin, and he told me that a second Titanic movie is being made. The plot is that in present day a replica ship called Titanic II is built and launched on the same day and route of the original. And whaddaya know, the ship sinks.

I think this movie is gonna fail, not only is it really insensitive, they seem to be ripping off Poseidan Adventure with the plot on this one. Here's the trailer.

I'm sorry, but the title itself is a fail.  That was a tragic accident, not a tragic reoccurrence, you know?

Another movie for the Nostalgia Critic to review.

That ship failed harder than its predecessor.

I mean, it's on fire AND sinking.

Man, that was the best (or worst)

Failure I have ever heard about.

I imagine that "Titanic II" would be such an appealing target for some wacko so concerned with authenticity that he'd make sure that the boat sunk - even if not by the most natural of means this time around. I wouldn't be surprised if that actually were the plot of this thing (one would hope they would be at least that creative). :P

I can easily see this thing failing and tainting the name of the original movie forever.  >_>

Yeah.  For the sake of it, I honestly hope it turns out to be a great movie...but I doubt it will.

technically the movie "Titanic" with Leonardo Decaprico was actually a "version" to come out....they made a movie (back before most of us were born) called "A night to remember" it was about the sinking of the Titanic...just in black and white....i find that version best because it does not deal with some little romance of any kind...it showed how some people would go about the day..until it sank....it also showed the harsh reality that some women and children were left behind. (but i must agree....to make a squeal based on 100 years later....it utter BS)

Guest Para Astaroth

I can see several negatives about this trailer:

1.  Acting was decent

2.  Why would you name a ship after it's old predecessor?  That's a bad omen in the making!

3.  A fire...  Really???  In the middle of a freaking ocean?!  C'mon...

4.  Where was the iceberg?

5.  Another freaking remake...

I call 2010 the Year of the Remakes!

Titanic 2?? You have got to be kidding me

It's definitely going to be a flop. I'd be really surprised

if it turns out to be good.

i must say, all a fire needs to burn are a few things....oxygen and anything burnable, (woods, kerosene, gas, ect.) so technically before certain parts of the ship touch the water, the upper decks can catch on fire, but as soon as they hit the water they would go out.

oh and  :lolhyst: at the remake comment

What? No Mexican mice or rapping dogs?

Seriously though, I was all "Cash in! It's Goldeneye all over again!" but then I noticed it was made by the Asylum, makers of film classics such as Tranmorphers and Snakes on a train.

Eh, I allready know how it will end. The ship sinks...

Actually, fire is by FAR the biggest threats any naval vessel can encounter. While most modern ships hull are made from metal, most of their interior and especially what fossile fuels used for propulsion is very flameable indeed.
