El Zorro de la Estrella
I liked the way Assault did it, with both types being there.Personally, I would totally go for an Assault-type sequel game! It's like others have said, it shows that Fox and co. have other skills outside of just being pilots. And srsly, the on-foot missions were (IMO) hella fun! Maybe they should make it a lil more 50/50 next time tho.And definitely LONGER!
Beau Skunk
Considering Star Fox 64 was my first SF game, I admit, I prefer the Arwing & other vehicles over being on-foot. I wouldn't mind a few on-foot missions in a future SF title, as long as they're kept to a minimum though. Some of the on-foot missions in "Assault" were kinda tedious to me for the most part, especially the Cornaria mission. I didn't know where to go half the time in that level the first few times I played it.One thing I did think was cool about the on-foot missions in "Assault" was the ability to switch between the Arwing & Landmaster on the go in some of them. That was a nice innovative feature. Not to mention the "wing walker" segments were quite fun to.
DZComposer
I'm writing an article on this. Watch the main site, It'll be up in the next few days.EDIT: OMG! Beau! Great to see another veteran fan come back!

Vixie Darkmatter
And definitely LONGER! I agree with this, very few of the levels, both on foot and in the air, were really long. There seemed to be just as much time watching cutscenes as there was playing. Not that the cutscenes were bad.

Guest F0xmccl0ud
Now this subject can go either way for me, but if I had to choose I would keep the on foot mixed in with the in air missions. Yes it's not quite classic Starfox, but I still enjoy the newer game design, just less weapon complexity to the on foot missions.
Beau Skunk
To be honest, the on-foot missions in "Assault" took a long time for me to finish the first time I played them personally.

Fluxy
And Assault was terribad.*Nods* But, I am a fanboy, so it makes me see it I a still fun way. Lol. I can see though that it was a bad game, even though I do enjoy playing it.
Heather McDonnell
And Assault was terribad.wich means you definitely hate Adventures, right?I love Adventures. Milkyway64
It's not that. Adventures was a totally different game. Assault was bad because it was bad, Adventures was mediocre because it wanted to be Zelda but just couldn't -quite- pull it off. Adventures knew what it wanted to be and happened to just be okay. Assault boasted a return to actually being STAR FOX and fell flat on it's face.
Thu'um
I liked assualt, and not just because i was a star fox fan either. But we could use alot less ground combat, but not get rid of it.
Falconman
wouldnt be good if you get an equal share of being on foot & being on air?
KokoaMinto
For me, the ground missions were very refreshing in my opinion. I just make some mistakes with the controlsettings on it but otherwise I love it!I love the air and I love the ground since Adventures. Assault was a short game, but it had it's own taste and combination. It could be a longer game, though, but we can -at least- be glad that they made a new title for the Gamecube, and that they tried their best to make it as smooth as possible. So I think both air and being on foot are good settings for the franchise.
sjrathbun812
I really didn't mind the controls that much at all. At first I used the "easy" controls, (I really didn't play shooters much, then.) Then I finally started using the duel stick controls because (for one reason) My brother used that and he just wiped the floor with me in VS. That, and it was annoying in single player because I couldn't shoot and run AT THE SAME TIME. The only problem I have with duel stick controls is that to change your weapon, you can use either the "A" button, or you can use the D-Pad. I end up using the "A" button the most because it's easier to use, it's easier at your disposal. But the problem is, if you use it, then if you want to switch your weapon, you have to go through a complete circle until you find that weapon. With the D-Pad, you can go either left or right. But I'm still used to using the "A" button because its easier.
Robert Monroe
wich means you definitely hate Adventures, right?I love Adventures. Like the title said; it's an adventure. An adventure you will néver forget! No. I like Adventures. From a technical standpoint, it was great. Smooth controls, good music, good graphics. It lacked substance, and made promises of huge adventures when in fact it was a railroaded linear game, which is why it failed to deliver.Assault was just a horribly clunky thrown together game. The main difference, which is a huge one, is that compared to Assault, Adventures had much better ground playing, and was a lot smoother. I honestly can't remember Rob's opinion on it anymore. LolAssault was a clumsy feeling generic as hell action game that was short as hell and lacked any originality or soul. Adventures wasn't much better, but you can at least tell Adventures wanted to be something better but failed, with its cut content and whatever.wouldnt be good if you get an equal share of being on foot & being on air?STARFox. Some ground I could admittedly put up with, but dammit its called STARFox. Spaceships and pewpew, dammit. For me, the ground missions were very refreshing in my opinion. Adventures was watered down Zelda (so that's nothing refreshing), and Assault was every form of bland 3rd person shooters conglomerated into a clumsy controlling mess. I will not be glad that they made a second Starfox gamecube game when that game is in fact bollocks.I really didn't mind the controls that much at all. You just sorta shot wildly in a general direction while moving and hoped it killed things.

There IS a cursor you know...Plus it turns red when it's on a target. And getting that cursor to highlight red is like moving it through -molasses-. I know consoles aren't the best thing for FPS style setups, but Assault underperformed more than most console FPS style games do. Perciscion was utterly absent from the game.
