well...we do already have crap load of weapons, gear and different vehicles...why dio we need more? the more vehciles you create the less money you have to keep. AND we do have alot of old stuff like those F-16 fighting falcons and those *ugh* Phantom  jets from vietnam. The Phantom could use some modifications im sure! :)

Because if the education system actually got all the money it wanted/needed, programs would be better, quality of education would be better, and then maybe young people would learn a better basis for resolving their differences in the the first place. Spending billions of dollars on tools of destruction instead of tools to build better lives for people is sheer lunacy. Have you ever seen the movie Charlie Wilson's War?

Education itself gets PLENTY of money, but crooked admins and board members pocket it.

However, I agree with you that a bloated runaway military budget outspending schools and other needed social services is ass-backwards.

Sometimes I think that people only hate school because they are lazy and don't wanna do any work >.> Of course, there is also the aspect of having sub-par programs, like you agreed with, and the horrible social aspect of it.
