Not every non-furry knows about polls of that nature and a sizable minority of furries are perfectly straight. Yeah, but you know, at high school you get insulted for...really anything. Honestly, I don't think more than 3-4 of my friends know what "furry" means....in that case, that the fanbase exists at all.... Kid_Cortet Posted August 17, 2010 Share Posted August 17, 2010 I remember when i found out was a "furry" was...i mentioned to a friend i was writing something with anthros....she called me a furvert....then later i got this thing called "the internet" and started browsing......i came across this one site....filled with furry and furry friendly peopleI talked to a few of the artist on this site who helped explain the culture a bit. I miss talking to them (this was 5 years ago or so...) and soon i started drawing my own furry art, and thinking in ways of liking gay furry art and other anthro related character.....the site that helped me the most with getting stuck into the fandom.....Starfox-online!!!at first people were like....WTF....they didnt hate me for they didnt really know what it was either.....but i soon helped them to understand it...they were ok and accepting (some wanted to join...but their hearts were not into it)then i moved...some people found it to be a shock...and poke fun at them.....but i piss them off with tricky remarks lol[move]GO FURRY!!!!![/move] Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Granted, I'm not what some people call "hardcore," though I know somebody who is... He and I get along just fine, though.This guy has practically done everything short of the extreme. He has well-detailed (no offense, get the joke?) art, an incredible mind for yiff literature (or so I've heard), and seems to know a great deal about the subject. In fact, the only thing I haven't seen him do is don a fursuit, though I'm sure he wants to in the future.As for me, I just find myself staring at a good piece of art or literature. The feeling of being able to tell people, and still be okay with yourself is a huge accomplishment. Will it mean less friends and some people will scoff at you? Maybe, but it comes with the inner confidence and accepted feeling on the inside. I let them know I thought certain things were attractive, and that was that. I keep weird things like furry stuff kinda secret though. Different families work things out differently though.
