Sapphire
Being a Great Fox fanatic such as I am, I had a good idea to start a topic about the Great Fox.I actually found out some cool stuff about it, and some bad Like that James took out an 80 year loan on it and Fox has to pay for it And here's something that sucks, since the Great Fox was sacrificed in SFAs, they made a new one. Which I know it was well worth it but I'd rather still have the Great Fox now, with the SF64 design ? My fav! So the Great Fox II, that ugly piece of shit in SFC, I think it's terrible. A disgrace to mankind. Any opinions or subjects about the Great Fox?
Fluxy
Original Great Fox is a lot cooler in my opinion. Not just because it was the first, but just because the one in SFC just didn't look right for the team. (Again, all of this is IMO)

Sapphire
I love the one from 64, it's my favorite. Best design I think. Then the SFAd design, then the Assault design.
Guest FoXXX
The Great Fox looked its best in SF64. I could care less about the GF in Command, everything in that game is a joke.

Watch the following video:Ok, now that you've seen that. This video takes place in SSBB which was made in 2008. And Star Fox Assault was made before that. Now you see the Great Fox design here from SF64, which was a long time before SSBB, and since this game was made after Star Fox Assault, which the Great Fox was destroyed in, why do you have the Great Fox in SSBB? Especially with an outdated design?I'm not saying I didn't love it, I did. I'm just wondering what ya'll think.
Showtime 1-1
I think they used the SF64 Great fox (and Arwings) in brawl because Starfox 64 is widely considered as the best Starfox game. Or at least, it set the tone for Starfox that got so many fans hooked. None of the other Starfox games made as big an impact, so they went back to the classics for Brawl. As for the Great Fox itself, I liked the original design the best. It didn't have a big role in Adventures, but I did like how it looked weathered and battle-scarred, which added a little weight to the story, because it gave Fox a better goal then just a money reward for saving Sauria. My favorite scene with the Great Fox was probably it's final battle. It was cool to see the ship in action, with the cannons and everything, but downright sad when it rammed the Aparoid shield. And, if you ask me, the new great fox, in Command, was a result of a total lack of interest from the game designers. I would have at least based it on the old design, but improved it somehow. CrypticQuery
The Great Fox was definitely the best in 64, amazing in Assault, and a steaming pile of sh*t in Command. Like seriously, WTF WAS THAT THING IN COMMAND!??! AND WHY DOES ROB & THE GREAT FOX CARRY OVER TO STARWOLF-ONLY MISSIONS?!?! But yeah, the Great Fox is awesome, a shame that it got basically decimated. And I was like Wow, what power. Damn bugs
themarksman3
The Great Fox was awesome in the N64 game. As a kid I always thought that if I slowed down enough I'd run into the Great Fox. I was too scared to try it though You should see the "Great Fox" in Star Fox 2, it looks nothing like the SF64 one. It looks stupider, but that game rocked anyway. Chrono Reaper
they actually incorporated some parts of the design from the Star Fox 2 version of the Great Fox and put it in the Star Fox command game. Both SF 2 and SFC's great Fox's look like they have dual hangars on each side of the ship, with the bridge is at the very back.
themarksman3
Yeah, I guess thats the only good thing the Great Fox 2 has going for it, that it was based off of the Mothership (thats the GF from SF2).Ah, I guess we shouldn't be so hard on Command. Or maybe we should. :P

Another reason why Command makes little sense. StarFox could've made use of most of the weapons the CDF removed, right?

And that was a great scene in Assualt, seeing the Great Fox ram the Aparoid shield open, allowing the StarFox team (and later StarWolf team following the ship's explosion) to gain entry into the homeworld's inner region. For Command, lack of interest is more than right. To me, it seems that the makers were not even really trying at all with anything, really. We can only hope that the next sequel, brings back the true Great Fox. :)
Falcory
Uh....*looks up on Wikipedia*"The new ship, christened the "Great Fox II", was a decommissioned Cornerian Assault Carrier, which, as a result, had all of its weapons and military grade hardware pulled, leaving just a basic hull."So yeah! Unless this was all stated in a Starfox Command Player's guide that I've somehow never seen, I'm afraid I'd have to doubt the actuality of that info from Arwingpedia. The Great Fox "II" and the Pleiades have never been fully explained by Nintendo, so I find it hard to believe that info on them formerly being Cornerian Assault Carriers. It's not even certain Great Fox "II" is even another mothership-it's never called "II" but simply "Great Fox", which implies to me that it's the same ship.....just remodeled. On a side note Chrono Reaper brought out an interesting point earlier that I had noted some time ago. Great Fox in Command resembles the Mothership in Starfox 2 more than anything, which gives a little bit of substance to my "Starfox Command in the Starfox/Starfox 2 universe" theory. But OT 64 Great Fox is my favorite as well. I really even prefer it to the Assault version. The SFAs type looked Hi-tech to a point of certain coolness, but it's overall design was just a little too pointy. The Adventures version would have been perfect, if it hadn't looked so beat up.
Tiberius
I like the one from Assault but it needs better point defense. Nuff said.
