Any viruses lately?

Ha, I got that one while Steve was here. Annoying little bugger. I loved when we were trying to find it with my scanners, while it was scanning, it would pop up random porn sites, but it wasn't able to view them because it had disabled my browsers from viewing the internet. xD It was great.

Glad it's long gone, though.

I only got two, Viagara.com and Porno.com. Now, With the porno one, I was like "Annoying, but couldn't you be a little more original with the name?"

Meh, McAfee is crap, as is Norton. Avoid those. Kaspersky and BitDefender are far better choices.

I personally run Kaspersy as mine. For browsing, I use Firefox with Adblock Plus and NoScript.

Kaspersky Lab?  Cool, thanks!

How do I contact/find them to get their product(s)

Oh yeah, I had forgot that McAfee slows my computer down to the point where I will just say "Screw it!" Norton somehow got on my computer... it just installed itself. It's like it's a virus itself.

Crap. My dad's installing Norton on mine soon :(

Sad thing is that Norton and Mcafee used to be top notch programs back in the day and by far the best choices at times.  Too bad that was like....10 years ago lol

Now all the hype is for TrendMicro things and Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware.

Yeah. It used to be AWESOME and now it's just...EPIC FAIL. Almost as epic fail as the Net Nanny software my dad has installed on my comp.

Lol @ Net Nanny.  Apparently 14 year old's could bypass it.

I remember a time when one KLA member was telling me that his filtering software that his dad installed blocked access to the KLA.  Lulz were had. :P

My mom installed a tyrannical filtering software by the name of Blue Coat K9 Web Protection... and it is very hard to hack and exploit because they are constantly updating it, to prevent any hacking or bypassing. Usually by the time you find a hack on YouTube, it is outdated. NetNanny will worship K9 in hopes to be as good.

The two antivirus softwares I avoid are AntiVir (that one with the umbrella logo) and AVG. I hate AntiVir because it literally MINIMIZES your game to bring up its stupid ad while updating, and usually my games break when you minimize them (or just be really slow). I don't like AVG because eventually it will break to the point where it will CONSTANTLY b!tch at you to restart the computer after updating. You update, it STILL says to restart the computer!

Now I go with Avast!. Sure it pops up every now and then "VIRUS DATABASE HAS BEEN UPDATED." But it doesn't interfere with your games or anything :P

Where's the best place to get Avast software?

Well, I don't know what systems you guys have, but mine is XP, that should narrow down my choices.

Ummm.... Either from their website itself (use Google) or you can use CNet. They always have trusted software available :P

The ONLY problem I had with Avast is that it thinks some of the programs that you use (such as IOBit 360) are viruses. Just tell it to do nothing or ignore it.

Whenever I see a download link to CNET, I am reassured to download it.
