I don't hate Slippy, he isn't annoying neither is Tricky. I'm not a fan but I think Slippy is at least somewhat useful.

^True. But I HATED that whiny voice in Starfox 64. That's not saying I hate Slippy in general, I just thought he can be annoying in that game.

Also, is there going to be voice acting in this? And is it just going to be storyboards? just out of curiosity.

In the movie Peppy starts off hating Slippy. As time goes by however, they basically become homies. 

There's going to be music and sound fx but no voices. I have subtitles instead.

I guess I haven’t drawn Panther because I do not really like him all THAT much.

In Assault he almost had the same attitude as Leon in 64 while Leon himself had changed. I really don’t get it.

Talkin about the movie, I would’ve included him if it wasn’t for the fact that it takes place in the lylat wars. Still, a shame, actually. Coz I would’ve liked to develop his character a lil.

Because you see, I don’t include characters just for the sake of having them here. I want them all to be REAL characters who have personalities and contribute to the story in one way or another.

OF COURSE I'm talking about the members of Starfox and Starwolf. A cameo is not totally out of the question.

Don't worry there R3dfive I liked the original star wolf team better anyway. There's more members and they are harder to beat then the new one. Screw Panther he doesn't deserve a place here.

Always the "When will it be finished?"

Which, unless you're feeling brave and confident, should be answered with a "When it's done."

Also, as long as you're fine with it, make people aware of what characters will make appearances in the project. Most, if not all, SF fans have their own favorite character, sometimes the sole reason for clinging onto the franchise. Making it clear who's allready in will save you a lot of nagging from people who want you to include their favorite.

Q: What the heck? So you’re actually making a movie?

A: Yes. However, it will be an animated storyboard without real animations except from minor things and scenes.

Q: What’s a storyboard?

A:

Storyboards are graphic organizers such as a series of illustrations or images displayed in sequence for the purpose of pre-visualizing a motion picture, animation, motion graphic or interactive media sequence, including website interactivity.

Q: Will you color the storyboard?

A: No.

Q: Do you do animation professionally or are you a director/writer in the making?

A: Actually, I wish I were a director but nope to all three.

Q: How long will the movie be?

A: As of now it looks like it’ll turn out to be a little over 2 hours without counting the 15 minutes long prologue. (Yes. 15 minutes. Deal with it.)

Q: How long have been working on that project?

A: Been thinking about working on a Starfox movie in summer 2009. ACTUAL work began in November 2009 and I took a 4 month-break because of final exams spring 2010. As of now (12/11/2010) I got about 50 minutes down, also counting the prologue.

Q: Is it going to be finished?

A: Uh…yes.

Q: When’s it gonna be finished?

A: Around fall 2011 I guess.

Q: When will it be released?

A: OK, that’s an entirely different thing. I don’t know. Copyright might become an issue not only with Nintendo but also with record labels and the like.

Q: Do you work with voice-actors?

A: No. The movie will have subtitles. Other than the drawings there will be tons of sound fx and music.

Q: Why do you work alone?

A:

I fly solo, babe.

Q: What music do you use?

A: I mainly stick with Starfox stuff. However, the soundtrack doesn’t really comprise the needed dramatic ups and downs in certain scenes. So I either remix stuff or I make use of completely other soundtracks (e.g. Pokemon the first and second movie. I’m NOT kidding. It fits perfectly! Just give the soundtracks a listen and you’ll be amazed.)

Q: Are you going to use flash?

A: No need for that. I use Window’s Movie Maker, no need for fancy stuff.

Q: What’s up with your style?

A: Hybrid-technique. I insisted on combining American and Japanese drawing styles.

Q: When does the story take place?

A: The Lylat Wars (Starfox for the SNES/ Starfox 64), as the title suggests.

Q: Who’s in this movie?

A: In the prologue we get to see James, Peppy, Pigma as the old Starfox-team. Apart from that we follow the new Starfox team, which consists of Fox, Falco, Peppy and Slippy on their journey. Starwolf plays a VERY important role in this movie. Apart from that it should be obvious that I won’t leave out General Pepper and Andross. Oh… and there’s some funny ROB scenes.

Q: Will Bill Grey make an appearance?

A: Absolutely. In fact, he does play an important role! Also, I'll give some of Bill’s men from the Bulldog/Huskey squadron names and personalities.

Q: What about Fara?

A: A little cameo, you can see her in my second storyboard collage on deviantart.

Q: Miyu and/or Fay?

A: Same as above.

Q: How about Katt?

A: She will make a brief appearance and I will shed some light on how she met Falco. There’s going to be an EXTREMLY important scene about Falco’s past featuring Katt. I don’t think there will be enough time to elaborate on their actual relationship, though.

Q: Is Panther in this movie?

A:

A: Nah.

Q: Can I request a cameo?

A: In point of fact, that WAS possible up until the second act of the movie. Again, check out the second storyboard collage on deviantart.

Q: What’s canon in your movie, SF64 or SFSNES? 

A: This is where it gets interesting.

My name is Fox McCloud, lead pilot of the intergalactic mercenary team Starfox.

Many legends surround our struggle against the maniacal emperor Andross, who declared war on the planet Corneria.

…. However, to most people it remained unclear what actually happened.

So in my “movie-canon” everything else during the Lylat Wars was either a myth or Cornerian propaganda.

You guys know how Starfox 64 begins?

Corneria, fourth planet of the Lylat System…

etc. This is how most versions are told. WHICH MEANS, everything after the intro of the game is really just a story. This is why there are different paths. Also take into consideration that there’s the SNES version and the comic, ALSO there’s going to be the remake for the 3ds. All are supposed to be different representations of one story told by civilians, historians and others. With my movie I wanted to create something special. This is not your typical good vs evil- thing. Acting as if my movie was canon will make you look at these characters in a totally new light. (Without changing them, really!)

Q: What’s the tone of the movie like?

A: Not gonna spoil too much. As the story progresses the movie becomes darker. Just to get the obvious outta the way. I’m not forcing this to become your melodramatic grim-dark space opera. The darker tone actually results from the situations. Especially, since it becomes harder to distinguish between allies and enemies, good and evil.  Something regarding the humor:

All kinds of situation comedy and dark humor will find their way into the movie. In addition, there’s some slapstick BUT don’t worry…. It’s nothing too silly ?

Q: Any Violence?

A: Intense battle sequences are inevitable. Genocide, torture and vile experiment on living beings will be mentioned but nothing graphically shown on screen. 

Q: Blood, gore?

A: A little blood some times here and there. Again, nothing too bad. Violence and gore should be….uh… PG13 level, I guess.  (Actually, I get that question a lot from people I know IRL, since I usually portray my characters with guns and other weapons. Any Starfox fan is already used to that I guess)

Q: Profanity?

A: Haha, no! “Bastard” is used some times but everything else is HECK, DARN and whatnot. Sure, we’re at war in this universe but this still a franchise mainly for kids and teenagers. But when I think about it… Cussing somehow DOES make it more immature…

Nay, don’t worry.

Q:  Will you shed some light on Fox and Wolf’s rivalry?

A: Absolutely.

Once I’m near finishing this project there will be a trailer….probably with voices. I’m not sure.
