Guest Julius Quasar
Every time I've been going there not too recently, they say they're "Under Renovation" or something like that. That sucks, 'cause although I had some problems in the past on their web community, I still had fun on their site, looking at what they had to offer (heck, I always like the artwork the KLA had to offer). But now it's gone though. Has anyone spoken to Hoshikitsuniki about it?
Ellipzocore
Yeah, I noticed that too. The have a link to the forums at least. But I saved the direct link the forums in my bookmarks.
"User"
http://arwinglanding.net/forum/index.php?topic=15227.0Apparently they're trying to renovate the site and make it look better. Ellipzocore
And from what I know of Arwing Landing, Stealthfox is rarely on.

Although it's been nearly two months since that topic was posted. What is it with sites putting up big "under renovation" signs, especially ones that don't seem to use fancy scripts that could EASILY conduct a redesign on the webmaster's local machine and then upload it when done? Why deprive your visitors unnecessarily? I don't remember Arwing Landing being a script driven site, so what the hell?

Why didn't they just keep up the original content? They have to do something to keep their visitors waiting. At the very least they didn't have to deprive people access to the non-forum areas. It takes me a day, 4 days tops to fix up my own forums. And my home website is easy to edit. But this is ridiculous.

If this place, Starfox HQ., or KLA were under renovations, I'm sure they wouldn't do that unless it was 100% necessary.
Sylum
Chill people. Stealth wants to change HIS website then he will. Stealth is extremely busy so it's not that big of a deal. It'll happen whenever it does. As far as i've heard, the software was getting a bit dated and he wanted it more recent. ask hoshi for more info.

That being said, that's not the issue here. The problem is...taking away the SF-related conduct in the meantime. There's no point to that AT ALL. Furthermore taking 5 minutes out of your busy day and informing the rest of the community as to what the heck is going on when people start asking is common sense... Guest FoXXX
You can work on updating the website without having to actually shut it completely down, right?

Ellipzocore
I don't really know, if you are editing, you can't know for sure. If you are visiting, it may have the old layout. But maybe the website went down to prevent anything negative from happening. But I am not StealthFox, and thus I do not know.

"User"
Stealth said hes doing this because he was barely active, but he was the only one who could update the site.I hate it when that happens on forums. Not his fault of course because of personal issues but there should be more then one person with that ability in case the other goes AWOL or is very inactive, unless he was the only one with the tech skill to do it.Also isn't SF HQ dead?Heh, it's been dead for quite some time. I used to be an admin there as well (still am actually lol) The guy who pays for the hosting which that site runs off posted up an announcement about how the site might just vanish.http://dingonet.org/sfhq/index.php?showtopic=1675&pid=47721&st=0&#entry47721
fox1235
Luckly Stealth is going to make so others admins can post stuff and I think he's getting staff writer like we have.BTW I haven't seen Vulpine in a-while,where has he been?
Sylum
No clue. He vanished from our radar over there. Anyway, hoshi already hasthe admin power i just don't know if stealth let her know the way he runs things for the main page.
DZComposer
1. Let's not criticize how other sites are run. I don't like it when people play that game with us, so we won't do it to anyone else.2. Sometimes upgrading stuff requires bringing down the original. Code sometimes depends on absolute URLs and such, so moving things into an "OLD" folder on a server is not always worth doing.3. Any future site changes at SFO will be done in whatever means is required. If that means shuttering the site for a while, so be it. Though I'm the type of guy who likes to build things in a test environment first so I don't have to take my service down for weeks. But I can't promise that that won't happen. It's entirely situational.
