Star Fox Runner
I found a video of the first 5 minutes of the game, and while there are some nostalgic elements from the N64 game, this game is definitely a different beast from the original. Either way, I'm excited for it. Check it out.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b_yhlHOzp78&feature=player_embedded#! (Footage starts at 1:32)Though I'm liking this, I do think this game has the potential to fail because of being constantly compared to the original game. If somebody goes in expecting the game to surpass the first game, I think they will be disappointed, because the older game has pretty much reached a legendary status, nothing can beat that.I however, will not be measuring the game on it's comparisons to GoldenEye N64, but the game itself on its own. If it stands apart from other shooters from today, then I think it will be a success.
Sabre
I agree somewhat, for different reasons. Goldeneye itself isn't legendary, rather it's reputation is. As you say, no game will ever be 'good enough'.Aside from the weirdness of not having the original cast the game is less like Call of Duty then I originally expected, but even so, it's definatly aping that game in a few to many ways.My other issue is none of the devs that worked on the original are working on this one, so it's a name only sequal. Why not call it something else and make it a new game to not annoiy Goldeneye fans?
