Steve
Compare prices before you make the move, if you haven't. Cause if the cost of fixing the laptop is around 60-70% the price of a new one, then you are better investing or saving for that. Cause laptops tend to be tricky when it comes to replacement. If the laptop screen is only the problem, then you can always plug up an external monitor from an old machine, in that way, you won't need to be borrowing laptops, but you can borrow one of those old things. Redeemer
Heh This place isn't the same without you!:3 *hugs FoXXX*Steve that's a good idea, I'll price it, then see if it's worth doing. Because I would like a new laptop too, only thing is - how do I get my photos and movies off my old laptop if I decide to buy a new one?
Steve
Like I said, try getting an old monitor and plug it to your laptop, that might help. Because if the problem only resides in the screen, then you can keep using your laptop as a pc, as long as you get a monitor, but if your gfx card went boom, then you are better off getting something new, cause replacing the whole mobo is expensive.About the transfer thingy...well, it should be easy if my idea of the external monitor works :P
Redeemer
Awesome! Okay, I'll get right on that! I really hope it's just my screen. D:
Owner/Technical Admin Sideways Posted August 19, 2010 Owner/Technical Admin Share Posted August 19, 2010 If it's just the screen, and you have a DVD Burner or USB port.. you can just copy your data.
