Interesting philisophical science fiction ideas I have

I've got lots of wild paranormal science fiction ideas, some of which I think are really cool. I use them in my original fiction, a lot of which I haven't posted on here. I have these two reptillian aliens in my stories who create this network of linked computers in order to take out an evil empire. Then, an evil wizard in charge of the empire makes the computers come to life, and serve him. The two aliens, who later become major villains in my stories, Zasher and Vale, get chips forced into their heads, called VOID chips. Then, they're assimilated into the hive mentality of the network of VOID supercomputers, which in-turn causes them to be evil slaves of the very evil empire they tried to overthrow. The people of the planet start worshipping these computers as gods, even though they created them themselves (I'm not saying we invented God, although that is an interesting philisophical argument). So, are my science fiction ideas original? Or not?

Note: I am not slamming anyone, on whatever it is they believe. My belief is that belief itself has power. Do we worship things we create? If we give power to something we worship, does it make it real? Will computers become smarter than humans?

Well, I've never heard anything like that, but

what are you trying to discuss? Is this a discussion

about belief? Or is it about your fanfic?

I used the example of my story, but that was to convey something and provoke thought.

This topic is mostly about belief/science fiction/philisophical concepts. Not religious beliefs per se. Mostly just science fiction stuff.

This topic is mostly about the following:

Whether or not computers could become as smart as their creators.

Whether or not man invented God, or vice versa.

Whether or not my concepts are original.

Whether or not the universe, life, etc has meaning (Which I believe it does).

Isn't that a bit contradictory? Lol

What I mean is,

I think if people discussed this particular subject, a religious

debate would form. Isn't there a special board for political/religious

and such topics?

Sorry, I don't mean to nag or anything

I view spirituality and religion as two different things, and most people don't. If the conversation leads to people flaming each other, then I will be fine with the topic being locked, but I just wanted to provoke thought.

Sci-fi stopped being original and philosophical in like the 60s or something.

1: Has been done before. The answer usually depends if you dystopian or utopian in nature.

2: Has been done before. The answer usually depends on how religious/spiritual you are, how negative you are, and how ironic you are. Can become a Shaggy God Story.

3: The story premise itself sounds original (and intruiges me), but the subtext is nothing new.

4: Depends on what meaning you're looking for. And how negative you are.

Yup!  Pretty much what I would've said.
