if you had a big red button next to your keybord and this little baby would erase definitely all bad things about internet (don't have to make a draw, you get the idea) but it would also brush out all that is good, would you push it so we can start building a better internet with only important stuff/good stuff? Even if we all know that we could loose primordial information about a variety of subjects. Would you push it?

Me? Yeah. i guess.

Assuming this kills the internet, which is.....a lot lot lot lot.... Then that means the world will go into chaos, and every business with some sort of internet marketing will have multimillionaire losses.

So yeah, heck no. Rebuilding everything will take years, and a lot of man power that could be used to improve the things we already have.

Every yin has its yang and vice-versa.

I would prefer some sort of "pick and choose" off-button remote. Businesses and shops need the internet, and I personally love eBay and stuff, but some things hapen online that make me want to switch off the social side and/or hurt people.

As Steve said, it's a yin-yang situation. :3

No, I wouldn't. Internet can be life for some people, and some businesses require internet to make their money (i.e. Ebay.) So doing this may have many "lulz" in store for me, but in the end, I just caused the world to go into utter chaos, and that would mean prison time beyond seven lifetimes, and don't forget the mass murders/suicides. So throwing the world into economic/social chaos would not be the best of plans for even the best of hackers.

NO AND HELL NO.

I'm a pretty big believer in free speech, and censorship of this kind is abhorrent.

Who gets to determine what is "good" and what is "bad?"

What if talking about a certain political philosophy gets deemed "bad?" What if sites belonging to certain organizations (IE the Freemasons) are deemed "bad?"

This is a dangerous line of thought.

"I believe in free speech as long it's the same as mine!"

A button that destroys all the good with the bad? I'm all for removing bad stuff by choice, but I would not want to hurt the good just to stop the bad.

Off topic: I was a desperate man, in a desperately bad game looking for some poon!

So all in all, nobody would want to destroy the entire internet to just get rid of the bad stuff. Am I right?

DZ already pointed out part of what I was going to say but I'll emphasize the "who gets to determine what's good and bad?" part.

I mean...what if we had someone like FoXXX making a decision like that?  Then all we'd have would be yiff sites!

It would be one strange world if there were only yiff sites on the internet. Strange enough with the ones that exist already.

I don't think we would call it the internet if it only had yiff sites.

OT: no I wouldn't destroy it, i mean whats the bad part of the internet i ask you?

Anybody want to be a part in the cancer that is killing "/b/?"

And I would be careful about what you say there. Feminist sites to you may be "stupid" or "idiotic" to you, but there are plenty of people out there who deem this their way of life. Freedom of speech for the win, but just be careful.

Doesn't matter how they deem it, it's bollocks.
