I think they key to safe eBay shopping is checking the seller's Reputation. If he's sold over 100 items, and has 100% positive feedback, I would buy from him. In saying that though, I have bought from eBay sellers with a 80% positive feedback but I've wanted the item so bad, I bought it anyway. It still arrived. I guess that it varies from seller to seller. Some people have real excuses and try to do their best, others are just asswipes. You really need to check over what people have said about the seller before you think about buying from him/her. It usually answers those doubts at the back of your mind.

That's fair enough, if you don't need to then that's great! I wish I could say the same, but there are no awesome stores in Scotland that I know of.

Sometimes it can be hard to navigate through the eBay site, but if you click on the number of sales, which is next to the name of the seller, you can see their feedback results. Just for those who didn't know that, because it took me about a year to figure that one out!  :lol:

Ebay=good, I use it to buy any discontinued video games whicht is awesome, but whats awesomer is that's where I get all mah SF merchandise.

Aw hon, paypal is easy to understand once you've set it up! I'll admit, I only set mine up a couple of years ago because before that, it seemed so complicated because you've got to fill in this form, they send you this amount, you have to tell them what it is, etc.

But once you've done all that, it's simple. That's the most complicated part of it over. From then on, it's just "buy the item", "pay with paypal", "enter paypal password" then "confirm" and that's it done! The money comes straight out your bank account. Unless you want to put money into your ACTUAL paypal account, then you just click "Add Funds" and type in how much you want to put in, from what bank account (usually people only have one choice for that but they still have to ask) and that's it! 

It's much better than what I was doing before - I could only buy things from the UK because I was using postal order to pay for stuff. Now I have paypal, I can buy ANYTHING and it's awesome. Not so awesome for my bank account, but still. Awesome. 

If you want to set up a Paypal account, maybe ask someone who's already got one to help you with it? Then you can fly solo once you get the hang of it. If you can drive, you can use Paypal. ;)

I use EBay all the time.  You can get like anything there for a good deal (especially rare stuff).

It's also a lifesaver at Christmas!

I also bought a new soap mold from eBay about 3 weeks ago, from the states... Still hasn't arrived, I'm starting to get angry. Between that and my braiding hair, it's just stressing me out.

I was just curious, how many of you use eBay? I tend to use it every now and then, but when I do use it, I buy a whole bunch of things at once. I've had my account since I was 15, and I now have a total of 55 feedback scores, all positive. The first thing I bought was a signed mask worn by the wrestler Ray Mysterio... I should totally sell that. Wow, forgot all about it! Anyway, haha! Yeah, in a space of 6 years, I've used eBay 55 times.

And today I bought a fresh copy of the first Silent Hill game (because mine is really on its last legs/edges/whatever) and I also bought a new copy of Silent Hill 3 because I've just noticed that my copy is missing. It was either stolen or I lost it when I moved flat.

Have any of you ever been "eBay-ed"? As in, you buy something and don't recieve it? I've had that twice. The first time was with a pair of boots. I spent £13 on them, and the woman gave me positive feedback when she got my payment then never sent them. I complained but back then the refund policy was different so I didn't get my money back, but on the bright side, her account was deleted and she was reported to paypal.

The second time it happened was with a DVD I had bought for my dad. 300, actually, what a great movie. Anyway, it cost me £7 and it never arrived, I complained but nothing happened, at all. So instead, I gave the guy negative feed back and put in block caps that he was a thief. Because he was. Grr.

Actually, on that note, I got both the braiding hair and soap mold today! Guess what happened? The post man didn't even bother delivering, he left it in the Post Office and didn't say anything. So I began to worry, phoned the Post Office and they were like "Yeah it's here, did you get a card about it?" and I said "Um, no, there was no post at all, I'm always in my house in the morning and he didn't even come to my door."

They apologised and I went about my day. Stupid public services, don't pull their weight these days.
