MeestaRyan
Hey everyone. My computer won't turn on. I push the on button and it just endlessly cycles through the loading screens. Never loading up to the login screen. I think It's probably a virus, but I don't know what to do. Does anyone know how to reformat it or whatever? Steve
as login screen, do you mean the booting (BIOS) screen or the windows screen?
MeestaRyan
Um, I think the windows screen. The screen where it shows all the users that you can log in as.
Steve
Have you tried booting on safe mode?

MeestaRyan
Um, not really sure what that is. I just push the power button under the disc drive. I didn't know there was another way to boot it up.
Steve
on the main booting screen, which is the bios (thingy that loads hardware stuff and makes sure your hardware is ok before loading the operating system, which is window) there should be 2 options, which are, changing the booting method of the computer and going to the bios main screen. If I remember correctly, f8 should bring up the booting options for windows (you should do this while the bios is booting). Sooo start your computer again, tap f8 a few time until the options appear :P
MeestaRyan
I think its f2. It said push f2 for bios settings. I tried the f8 thing and it didn't work. Is that what I'm looking for? Bios settings?
Steve
Not bios setting, windows booting setting, try f12 then
MeestaRyan
Ok. I got it. I tried all the safe modes and it keeps sayin windows system fatal error. System shutting down. I'll probably just reformat. If I can find the disc. Thanks for your help.

Steve
If you can manage to write the hex code (I think it's hex xP) that appears and then google it, you might find out what's wrong.

Guest FoXXX
If you do have to reinstall your OS, you can try backing up files that are important by using a Linux LiveCD
