What if one of us died?

This is kind of a depressing topic to bring up, I know, but the thought has crossed my mind once or twice.

Seeing how some of us don't know each other in real life, we don't know what happens in each others' day to day lives. Of the people here that have inexplicably left, how do we know that something hasn't happened to them, or even died?

It just seems strange that out of the people we talk to on here, someone could just vanish and we would never know. They would just be gone.

I'm not saying something HAS happened to anybody, but it's just something to think about you know?

We wouldn't. I thought about having a username and password and a post writen up for my blog, but my family are so crap with computers I doubt they could make it.

Ultimatly, we wouldn't know. FA has a status for that, but someone has to inform the staff, again not something that would.

Also, it doesn't matter really. It's not we know people well enough to attend someones funeral, and I doubt it would effect starfox in any way, so it doesn't matter that much.

As already said, we wouldn't. It'd start out as just someone going missing, presumably for other things in life, and by the time anyone realizes that that person has been gone for a long time it's already old news.

It would be hard for us to find out unless members here are really close to other members. I really don't want to think about this :(

both are right...but still again....unless they know each other IN PERSON....or knows how to get information from the right people.....then we would never know.....sad...scary

No, what would be scary if they decided to haunt you.

"Julius! I'm a ghost! Tell the people of SFO I'll be gone for while. OOOOOOoooooOOOOOH!"

Do you think if you get reincarnated you can find your way back to the forum?

What if one of us died? It would not be a huge deal, it would be saddening but there wouldn't be much any of us can do.

This post made me think about people dying and living on in the forum like they were some sort of AI.

That's it, everyone except me ITT is dead and posting from beyond the grave.

Only for a couple close (in internet terms) friends. I'd definatly miss the reedemer, maybe asper, but that said I didn't notice he had gone so maybe I'm talking out of backside.

Although Im not one to ask about death.

Would the manner of death effect anything?

This has never come to my mind. But i'd have to say I would be very depressed if someone actually left. Some of you guys I really got to know like Vrance Movado, Kid-Cortet, Chrono Reaper, Zero Flare, and Redeemer and if they were to leave, I wouldn't know what to think.

It would be cool if they came back in Jedi ethereal form:

"Kursed, you must go to the Degaba System!  There, you will find the Jedi Master who trained me..." :P

I'd be sad if one of you guys died, Julius, Kursed, Zero Flare, and Redeemer just to name a few would be genuine losses.

................but would anyone miss me? :(

I first started joining forums when I was 14. I started on Zelda forums, and as time passed, I met some members who were regulars there and we made friends. After forums began to die out or close, we always moved to another forum together. We stayed as a community. Then one day, our Admin on a forum called Zelda Realm vanished, and we got over-run by spammers etc, so we tried to find another forum to move to. The only problem was that there were no suitable Zelda forums left for us out there. They were either too big and busy, or inactive for years. So I thought "What the hell, I'll make my own!"

And I tried to, but I'm a n00b when it comes to that stuff, so I asked my friend's brother to help. The reason I asked his brother and not he himself? He hadn't been online in months, and I knew he had a good job and worked hard at it, so I thought nothing of it. I just pestered his little brother instead. He thought it was an awesome idea, as he and his brother actually invented a new forum server called EsoTalk. Anyway, we began to build our new "home" and I happened to ask in passing how his brother was, and I was informed there and then that he had been missing for a few months now. The police had been looking and found nothing, they went to his apartment and everything was there, except him. I was shocked, pretty bad actually, and thought - maybe more like "hoped" - he had simply went on a long vacation to de-stress himself.

So time marched on and the forum took form, but we had no members or anything, we were just starting out. Then one day I was chatting to the little brother over Facebook chat, just about random crap, then he said "Brb, someone's at the door", but he never came back. He didn't come back online for a couple of weeks. Next time I saw him, he told me they had found his brother's body. He was only about 24, and I won't say how he died because I swore to his little brother I wouldn't say it to anyone else. He only told me because his brother and I were such good friends.

The thing that makes me so sad, is that the last time we talked, I actually lost my temper a little with him. I was being a douche at the time because I was stressed out, and he wanted to snap me out of it with brutal honesty. As any good, caring friend would. But I didn't take it too well, so basically the last thing I said to him was "Mind your own business". I hope to god that he knew I didn't mean it. I would give anything to have him give me a reality check now.  I knew him for about 5 years, we were close and I looked up to him.

So his brother and I dedicated our forum to him. Our banner is actually made up of some of his last drawings he did, every time you refresh the page it changes, and there are about 10 overall.

This is why I hate internet drama. Because we're all human, and like it or not, things happen and people die. And death isn't fussy about who he sets his sights on. The event I just told you about, it changed me, I hope for the better.

So yeah, Star Fox Runner, that's all I have to say. :)

what else is new? :P

OT: i think another issue would be on those users who are here more often.......like say...some of the new recruites....I must admit there are some who have around 100 posts or so...and i have not noticed them.....now say those with posts in the 3,000 and up catagory....then people would notice something wrong and begin to investigate......sorry newbies (and no i was not using that in a bad way)

And...-huggles Redeemer- im sorry to hear that
