As somebody that's not only been given crap about my looks at many points through out my life- whether aggressively or passive-aggressively-, I've also bore witness to "the ridiculously good-looking" people that get treated better throughout life overall for happening to luck out on the aesthetically pleasing receiving end of the gene pool. Not that they're lives are perfect, but they generally get treated better and find things like money and tolerance easier to grasp than those with average or below average looks.

Shallow? Sure. But the world tends to spin in the shallow end of the pool.

Wisdom for me.

I shall now refer to you as Grand Master Furry, Knowledgeable of the Universe!

But then I would be wrong.

Wisdom and street/survival/thrive smarts are better than book smarts, IMO.  Book smarts are ok, but they only get you so far (not financially, anymore).

Pretty much this. If you have looks, you can get money for them, and who cares if you're smart or not?

It's kind of a big deal if your smart or not.

Honestly? It only goes hand in hand if you have looks or money to back you up. I know for a fact I'm semi-attractive and that's probably why I was picked over another girl who was overweight but more intelligent than me. Most of our society is shallow.

Yep. In an ideal world, I'd love to say my smarts got me where I am today but really? I think it has also done a lot with the fact of how I look and carry myself.

Basically, I want to say wisdom? But when I see Lindsay Lohan  - I figure appearance has to deal with how people will treat you too.

As I said in other thread, I have smarts and got no where.

O' course, if I would reelly be able to choose, I would'a have

50% smarts and 50% money. that would make a cool mix.

When I was at my school, we didn't beat up the nerds, they were useful to us. We beat up the @$$hole rich kids instead.

Sorry let me give you a better explanation: There were many rich kids and most of them rubbed there wealth in our faces. They insulted us because we didn't have as much money. They picked on our smaller friends. Oh and they paid the tough guys to beat up our friends "the nerds".

No we didn't have reputations as "tuff guys" as you so eloquently put it. So we defended our friends who were in younger grades from them.

They paid the schools bullies to beat up the nerds, and they threw some pretty harsh insults on the smaller grades.
