"User"
Also how do people get hooked on these things anyway? What makes them start?Peer pressure is one of the reasons I'll bet. Back when I was younger a main reason was to "be cool".And no I don't smoke, never have and never will.
Kid_Cortet
Quiting is harder then it is made out to be NoAlso it stinksAlso how do people get hooked on these things anyway? What makes them start? If you keep trying it after the first couple of times of coughing the endorphins in your brain get used to it, and after awhile...if they don't get it....you go completely mad o-o;;
Sabre
I get that quiting is hard, but what makes people want to start at all given that it makes you sick the first few times?
Milkyway64
Because people can be foolish.
Guest Julius Quasar
Also, there was a time when people "didn't know" it was bad for them, or they simply knew it was bad for 'em but just didn't care.

Guest Julius Quasar
if i was around you...I would smack you.....lolI'd smack you right back, kick you in the groin, knock you to the ground, and steal your wallet after stomping your guts, lolBack OT,I'm sick of these asshat tourists who smoke and then throw away their cigarettes from their car or while they're out in the wilderness, and they end up starting a wildfire as a result. Also, smokers drive up healthcare costs for others when they smoke and then get sick as a result. That's why I'm glad the insurance companies either drop them or refuse to insure them. Robert Monroe
I don't smoke, but I don't paticularly care if you do. Like any other habit, it needs responsibility.

Sadly many (but not all) smokers are pretty damn irresponsible. I don't just mean in terms of health, they cause fires with discarded un-extinguished cigarettes, or the fall asleep with one in their mouth, and cause fires. Also, I'm glad that Cali did get one thing right, and that's to pass stricter bans on where people can and can't light up.
