Sabre
Many moons ago I posted something about how most people don't think and are little more then easily replacable drones. People told me I was being dangerous, thinking along the lines of a crazed gunman and that XKCD doesn't agree.Later on a different forum, someone posted a time lapse of a big american food shop at peak time. Following that was a bunch of comments along the lines of "mindless human cattle" which I felt was kind of harsh given that we all need food.If you have never came across this idea before, here is a quick summeryhttp://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sheeple
Guest Julius Quasar
I know what you mean Sabre. I myself speak my mind all the time, and it pisses certain people off.But I won't be intimidated, nor will I be silenced, or my mind changed, nor my views altered. I'm from California, so I know firsthand the characteristics of the "Sheeple".People don't always think for themselves anymore, partly to blame is the educational system, messing up people's minds. It's not the fault of teachers, mind you, but the fault of school boards, school administrators, the National Education Administration.

DZComposer
This image sums this up:People pay more attention to this show than to politics. It's the old "Give them bread and circus and they won't rebel" thing. Why worry about politicians when we can watch a rude British guy berate wannabe singers? Keep 'em entertained, and they'll buy any line of bullshit.

Heck, it was like that in the last days of the Roman empire (where the phrase obviously came from), and we're seeing that here now in America...hm...come to think of it, that's kinda disturbing though... While I do agree with the entertainment idea (here the phrase is football and beer) I think the reason most people don't follow polatics is that there is no one worth voting for. To me they are all the same, nothing really changes, they all lie and cheat and steal, and voting someone else in get's the same stuff with a different face. I think that has something to do with it.It is telling when the prime minister goes to said British scum bag to get the public to back and idea, not the other way around. That's why the tea party is [slowly] gaining momentum...some folks have had enough of these "career politicians".
