Halo Reach

So what are your first thoughts about the game? (sorry if there's already another thread about this, I didn't see one when I skimmed through the topics)

I've played it for about a half an hour and I thought it was kinda like they went halfway between Halo 3 and CoDMW2. (not that that's a bad thing, I liked it for a change of pace)

I first thought "Oh crap another unsuccessful halo game like halo wars and odst" then I thought "Hey maybe this one has potential" where my thoughts.

Been playing it Non stop since it came out @ midnight (Aside from sleeping now and then). Finally taking an actual break.

IMO its better than halo 3 but only marginally. The Multi-Player is amazing so far (Everyone is a noob Haha!) and Firefight is good. Campagin is a little short but the story is well written and executed. Nice twists and its a story you get emotionally involved in. I have beaten it on Normal then Legendary along with all firefights as well as world first to 1 million points in firefight on corvette (Legendary/All Skulls).  The credits system is good and really makes you strive to get that "Sexy Armor".

In a note, Anything beats MW2 (lol). We can only hope that it remains strong when Black Ops comes out. My hopes are that Treyarch ruined it again.

As a fanboy I liked the game. I couldn't give a toss about competitive. But firefight is cool although custom games have a money cap and the matchmade ones are only 10 minutes long with infinate lives, making them kind of crap.

Campaign is excelent with my only complaints being with the Helicopter level seeming exsisting soley as padding with me not caring in the slightest. Also the story (spoiler warning?) had spartens seeming eager to kill themselves towards the end. The way that dude with the skull dies being very stupid. I put a possable spoiler warning, but the game opens telling you they all die, and more then a passing knowlage of Halo lore you will know this already.

I love the little details, the way the hat in the opening changes for example. I also love how it's both triumphant and tragic. I love the character customisation, but I dont like how competative multi player is the only fast way to earn money. Also some of achievments and awards pop up randomly, and no way to see what they were for, it's confusing.

I love the game, but then I'm a halo fanboy.

I get the limited edition, that's the one in the black box style case, and so far the feelies are great.

Forge bothers me tho, trying to build a sky war more like starfox dog fight... but the options are so defaulted to under stand. But the storyline and fire fight were alright... still think starfox assault is better^^

I don't have an Xbox, but my roomates do, and they've been playing it non-stop since it came out, and I have to admit that it looks pretty good!

I saw the flying level, and my mouth watered, I am a sucker for flying games thanks to Star Fox.

I've had the chance to play it a little more and I'm not sure if I like it better than halo 3 or not (ya I know I'm gonna get a lot of crap for saying that), but the multiplayer just doesn't seem quite like halo. The singleplayer is brilliant so far, so that's a plus.

Alot of people have been saying Halo X is the best. Understanable if you pick 3 or ODST, but when people say 2 had the best multiplayer, or that 1 was the best they are provably wrong.

Ya, I hate when people say that one halo is way better than the others.  I'm not saying that halo 3 is definitely better, but that I think I prefer the multiplayer in halo 3 or halo 1 (I can't say anything about halo 2 cause I haven't played it much)

I'll have to wait until I finish the singleplayer to give an opinion halo reach campaign though lol

HALO Reach is the HALO I had the most fun with since Combat Evolved, as I said in a different thread. Still run into the same BS that plagues HALO MP a lot, though, such as people who's first reaction is to throw grenades as much as they can. Didn't like 3's multiplayer that much (By far too many try-hards and the maps were... meh).

Heh, I have CE on PC and for original Xbox. Play the MP for PC a lot, and have some fun. First time I played it in a long time a few days ago, got three people to rage quit that night.

Damn lolz. XD (It sucks hardly nobody play the orginal Xbox Live for Halo CE now.)

By the way do you have Halo Combat Evolved Custom Edition?
