MGS3DS

Apparently theres a port of Metal Gears 3: Snake Eater: Substance coming to 3DS. If you've never heard of it it's a crazy stealth game all about wearing camo, eating animals to survive, a hillarious and cool theme song and a boss that is litterally a ladder that can kill you with hunger.

The player losses an eye at one point, so one trick they could use is that the game suddenly goes 2D at that point. :P

What's interesting though is that this almost confirms 2 things that were just speculation up until now. 1- That the 3DS may have technical specs at least close to the PS2. They are getting a whole PS2 game on it. 2- That the carts may hold 4gb or more. Excluding clever compression, MGS3 was packed with audio and FMV.

Whether a game with 20+ minute cut scenes and fiddly controls on a controler with more buttons will be suitable for a handheld are reasonable, it's as close as we can get without having the actual machine of the kind of things it's capable of.

Some of my favourate games are on PS2 and GC, and it was also the place for horror games. With horror games making a comeback, maybe we will see a second wind of horror with stuff popping out the screen. Imagine that.

The minute they make a realistic looking spider appear to be crawling over the screen, I'm quitting everything forever.

Oh god, why do I dread that idea and love it so, so much in the same emotion?

That's definitive, they have to bring eternal darkness out on that thing!

I liked the ideas more then the exicution. I think they fixed the broken camera and controls in a re-release, but I never played that version.

Eh the camera wasn't that bad for the most part, and the controls were fine as long as you didn't try to go Rambo.

I've played The Twin Snakes on GameCube, and I liked that, and I've watched all of the cutscenes for MGS3 on YouTube, so MGS3 3D is definitely on my want to buy list for the 3DS.
