Digg collapses, Reddit influences a major cable network

I don't know if you have heard of the Digg Vs Reddit war, but there have been major events in it lately.

Digg has been in a bit of a slump lately. It has gotten bad enough that Kevin Rose stepped down as Digg's CEO. People are declaring Digg dead, but I think that is premature.

Reddit, on the other hand, has been growing. Reddit's design may not be as fancy, but hey, they got it where it counts.

A couple of weeks a go this post was made on Reddit:

This led to a flurry of internet activity around the idea, and the donations to charity in the name of the idea. It got big enough to get the attention of Comedy Central. And continued to get big enough that CC basically had no choice:

Yep, John Stewart and Stephen Colbert will indeed hold a rally on Oct. 30. And it will be lol-worthy. All because of  Reddit.

Looks like Reddit's winning the war at this point.
