DZComposer
Okay, so it seems like RP drama is starting to bubble-up again, and it is coming out of these infinite RPs that somehow got through the process.I originally intended to let the RP staff run this board as they see fit, but I no longer feel that that is working as when staff changes, so do the rules, followed by drama about the rule changes. So, I think it is time to set some concrete guidelines here. So, step one in my solution is no more infinite RPs. EVERY RP will be subject to the time rules. Also, I am starting to consider post limits. Arwing Landing also has a free-range RP board like we do, and they have a soft-limit of 2 posts per person per day. I might add that they also don't have a bunch of drama rising out of their RP section. I'll give it some thought and get back to you guys on it.The 17 RP rules that have been here are now concrete law. The RP mods may no longer change them without discussing it with the entire forum staff first. Feel free to let me know if they aren't being followed, by regular members or staff.ONLY FOUR RPS AT A TIME. If I ever come in here and see five or more unlocked RPs, I will lock the furthest one down the page on the spot.I don't want to shut down the RP board again, but if you guys can't RP without getting mad at each other, the RP mods, and me, then perhaps RP is not a good thing for this community.Just to re-iterate the previous sentence, I have just about had my fill with RP shit this week. So please, RP with care and compassion. Also, think for a minute before clicking "post."

Disagree with me just as you would with someone who wasn't a friend. It's only fair. And yeah, I won't lie, it didn't necessarily start off in any sort of friendly manner, but I'll stand by my opinion. You can yours too, I don't mind. Milkyway64
Ah, a fine mess we have here. Barely been 10 minutes and most of the active RPers vowed to leave. DZ, was this the correct choice, or did you just go rage-bombing the place because of the apparently constant complaints? And yes, it's as Ris says. Robert and I hardly did anything. DZ even suggested that as soon as he noticed they were getting shut down anyway. Robert and I did not intend for this to happen, and in fact, think it's about as stupid as the rest of you. Kid_Cortet
I'm just gonna be honest with you here Dz. This may really kill the forum as far as activity.sadly DZ...i must agree...Limiting the post to two per day, cuts back on one of your own rules, keeping the flow of the rp reasonable. If we are cut back like that, people might lose interest fast, as after they make their second post, they can't make a response to something another character did until the next day. I must admit, as I have only recently gotten into rping on the forum, I began to enjoy it more and more, even more so then chat line rp. Because of the rules that there is no fighting and such. Most of the activity in this forum stems from the RP section, and if you take that away, people will try to find another means to fill that void, thus may leave the site for good. Many joined because of the roleplaying, and have stayed. I mean, you know what you are doing with your site, just try to understand....

Robert Monroe
Congratz, Milkey and Robert. Ya win. *Clap Clap Clap*As for me, I am going to finish the normal RP's I am in now, and stay for the creative section. Other than that, I am done RP'ing here.Yay! Wait, we wanted this to happen? News to me, son.And I hate to disagree with you, Ris, but the way it was started was not the way a debate or good discussion should have been done. =/We saw a problem. We brought up the problem. We challenged the problem. We didn't flame. We didn't act childish. We were rather composed and intelligent. So yeah.there's a rule on the site not to respond to trolls because it just starts a flame war. That's what we didYou really don't know what a real troll is, do you?As for the topic itself.... some good ideas, but I seriously question the results. I can understand about staff changes causing problems, and the RP stuff needs to get together to change the rules, otherwise you get chaos. That is fine and good. Post limits -might- be good, but 2 is WAY too low. I understand that unwatched, RPs can grow like weeds and leave people behind, especially when the players decide to make OH so thoughtout one-word posts, however, 2 would be too little for anyone to get anything done, fast. RPs under scruntinity from the time limit would be hard pressed to flow organically due to slow progress, and because of the impending time limit, would have to rush what little posts it does have. Thats not a good thing. 4 RPs at a time is something I still challenge with all my being. I don't even see the -POINT- of it, I geuss its to make sure RP mods don't have too much to read, but really the RP mods should be on standby, not having to actively comb and read EVERY SINGLE POST made by EVERY SINGLE CHARACTER. I heavily advocate the GMs being their own local gods of their RPs: they control the spice, the scenario, and determine if a RPer is fit or not for their RP. If someone gives them shit, they can kill them off. If they abuse their power, the players can CALL FOR THE MODS. This stricter rule on the RP section will probably bode ill in the long run.Again, not disagreeing with your IDEAS, moreso your execution of them. You guys may think it's all nice, but we simply CAN'T moderate all of this. You're all being really selfish, and acting like children. When children can't play nice with their toys, you take away their toys.Don't make us have to treat you all like children.Again: you shouldn't HAVE to moderate all the RPs. Milkyway64
What Robert says is true. This has been handled wrongly IMO. 2 posts per day? Lolno. Limits on the RPs out? ...Why? Seriously, I see NO reason for it at all. At ALL.

Why are you posting here at all if your not qualified to answer anything about the actual section other than you get complaints?A Spec op unit does not walk blindly into a mission knowing absolutly nothing about it or the location they will be in.It's like walking into a desert wearing clothes ment for Alaska... Steve
Woooow, I have no idea what's going on, but seriously, big DZ won't do something out of rage. He's probably throwing some ideas first, then he will test-drive them. There's no need to witch hunt the staff again , for the time being at least.Do remember that only 2-3 mods in the staff are in charge of this section, some of us, including me, myself and I, don't really check this place too often, unless, like now, when we get timed bomb warnings.Let's just all keep it civilized, an agreement will surely be reached, if both parties stay cooled. However, if this place needs new rules, then this place will have new rules, at the end it will be your choice if you stay or not. This is like the 4th RP drama we have. As stated before, the RP section could be self moderated by its own members + 2 rp mods, but since that isn't the case (proved by the past RP dramas, NOT this one), we need to set some limits. If whatever happened was just a big misunderstanding, then everything should get back to normal, hopefully.I'll try to get as much information as I can, cause I feel ignorant and helpless right now, for that I apologize. As for now, the only thing I can ask you all, is to keep it civilized and nice. Please. I won't tolerate any backstabbing against any party, specially mods that are only trying to cool things down.
