I am confused. I have never contradicted myself in recent memory. I call other people out when they contradict themselves, because they need to be aware of it, and I won't stop doing that.

It's not recent, and I agree.  If they contradict themselves, help to correct them.  It's when it's not called for that it bugs me.

But this is off-topic.

Woah.. Hold your horses people. RP is not going away, and I am not about to take all of your RP freedom away. I was a bit frustrated when I wrote that, so allow me to clarify.

Firstly: Post limits are NOT HAPPENING. At least not yet. And if I were to do them, it would be more than 2. I used AL as an example that post limits can work, and 2 is THEIR RULE, NOT mine.

Look, the point is something needs to change. Things cannot continue the way they are. We have rules in here, and lately there have been exceptions made to them. I stated that I wanted the exceptions to stop. Due to these exceptions, there were 7 RPs going when the rules said 3. And I'm getting nastygram PMs telling me I should resign because this board isn't getting moderated properly.

Basically, the main point of the post is that the rules are now going to be enforced as they should have been from the beginning.

But did the thought cross your mind that maybe the rules -are- the problem?  Not because they're too lenient, but rather the opposite?

If you have a suggestion, then I'm all ears. Whether or not I will implement it, though, depends on how easy or hard it makes moderating the board.

And please be specific. Saying "The rules are too strict" doesn't help.

I'm not sure how much experience DZ has when it comes to RPs, I know I have lil to none , which is why I'm only stepping here to do the classic "crowd control".

I personally wouldn't care what happens  as long as everyone, or mostly "everyone" stays happy. Just wait an see what DZ says, after all, you all have already stated your worries and "demands"

I've made quite a few earler in the topic. The rules do need to be actually enforced, but some of them need to go.

I do realize the rules about three RP's at a time, and that is a great idea in thought. But most of them hardly move at all.

I understand if you want to keep a limit to the RP's, but due to the actual speed of most of them, it doesn't leave much for the constant active RP's really to do.

I would ask at least one sticky to be up for the mainstream players, even if that means you need an active member, possibly one of the players, to act as a "GM" for it.

This, however, is only but a thought, and could have major flaws. Just a suggestion.

i agree....all you have to do is jump in....and when you exit...just post it...and jump in later....things between other members....don't actually matter to what you rp.

I Dissagree Not if theres  a well laid out plot that  is suppose to be followed. I've jumped into many rp's  some  as far as 10  pages already.

Ah, and this is why it would be for the 'Mainstream' ones, seeing as we are the ones wanting the sticky back the most. And what Kursed said is true. A quick update is a simple PM away from another player, or they simply just step into it.

I know to those who don't participate in it, that it might seem hard, or rough. But really, it is not all that hard.

That said, I do see some merit in an aimless, just-for-fun thread. However, if there's gonna be a limit on the amount of RPs available at any given time, they should definitely take a backseat. Newcomers will either be scared away by the sheer size and speed of them, or they will be taught bad habits that will carry over to other RPs they take part in.

Just my two cents.

Those are a very good two cents. And yeah, I can see where you are coming from. But then again, getting into RP'ing is always a bit of a challenge to try and find your own little flow and such.

This is why if they don't want to be in a sticky one, they can try and get into a normal one.

i generally do that anyway to see what certain character I have rped with are up to....plus during the morning...when no one is on...makes good reading material

I can understand the bit about fast paced rps being intimidating. I have been rping in chat rooms for years and got used to it (the forum is actually Slower then some I have been in) but that is why there were other rps in place, but the thing is, a lot of people here are expericenced and it is vise versa for them, trying to twiddle down to a beginners lever, is hard to do, and gets frustrating.

That's the point of those kind of RP's. There's no big story behind it, it's easy to jump in and out.. The way I was used to RPing is different.. the whole RP board was one big story and we jumped from one thread to another, we kept up with each other and had character development. Each person who played in the RP had their own character(s) and they worked together.

The way I was used to RPing is different.. the whole RP board was one big story and we jumped from one thread to another, we kept up with each other and had character development. Each person who played in the RP had their own character(s) and they worked together.

I fail to see why more people DON'T do this.  It makes the mod's jobs in general a heck of a lot easier.  I, for example, have any reported post go directly to my blackberry so I can take action as soon as possible.  Really, most everyone here should be reporting posts if they violate the rules (but don't abuse it, lol)
