Symphonic Legends

DZComposer

Recommended Posts

The most epic orchestral video game concert ever was recorded last week in Cologne, Germany.

Symphonic Legends, recorded by the WDR Radio Orchestra conducted by Niklas Willén, is the most epic orchestral performance I have heard of VG music. Star Fox is represented with a medley of SF64 and SFSNES music. ALso, there is a 5 movement Legend of Zelda tone poem that will completely rock your world. The album is not out yet, but somehow it is all over YouTube:

Enjoy!

Here's the Star Fox piece, called Space Suite.

BUY THIS ALBUM WHEN IT COMES OUT!

This kind of thing MUST be supported!

Oh, one thing worth noting, this isn't a "Let's slap some VG tunes onto some sheet music and have an Orchestra Play it!" concert like Video Games Live. This is a true merging of Video Game music and Classical Music. So, drop you preconceived notions about how the songs sound. Especially in the Zelda one.

Epically epic.

I love it when orchestras do video game music......they sound awesome....when I was in a band competion, one of the opposing schools did NOTHING but video game music...and Star Fox was one of them....

That should be part of the next Star Fox game soundtrack.

When will this album be released!?

I don't know, but here is the website of the people who do it:

They announced the last one there, so I imagine they'll have an announcement at some point.

I just read that there was a second Star Fox piece done at the concert. It is not on YouTube. I will verify.

OK, I have gotten what I read clarified. There is no second SF track, what I thought was one was the intro to the one I posted earlier. It is spoken words, but I do not know what they are saying because I do not speak German.
